From the song "Hold Me Down" by Motion City Soundtrack

"You're the echoes of my everything, you're the emptiness the whole world sings at night. You're the laziness of afternoons, you're the reason why I burst and why I bloom. You're the leaky sink of sentiment, you're the failed attempts I never could forget. You're all the metaphors I can't create to comprehend this curse that I call love."

But long, but it's my favorite. And seeing as it's too hard to pick just one, I have second, but this one's quite short. From "Point of Extinction" by the same band as above:

"Let's try redefining beautiful."

See, told you.

MCS is mah favorite band.

"Let's get fucked up and die.
For the last time with feeling
we'll try not to smile
As we cover our heads and drink heavily into the nights
That still shock and surprise.
I believe that I can, overcome this and beat everything in the end
But I choose to abuse for the time being,
maybe I'll win, but for now I've decided to die."

And Jobz, isn't it "comprehend this curse that I call, love" not "understand this curse that I call, love"

The Trial by Pink Floyd
"You little shit you're in it now I hope they throw away the key
You should have talked to me more often than you did
But no
You had to go your own way
Have you broken any homes up lately?
Just five minutes worm your honor
Him and me alone"

Doesn't look that good written down (and apparently it doesn't even rhyme), but it's one of the funniest Pink Floyd Songs

Alternatively:

"Crazy...
Over the rainbow
I am crazy...
Bars in the window
There must have been a door there in the wall
when I came in..."

"Silence Lies Empty" from a Lagwagon song whose name I don't even remember now. The song was actually pretty idiotic, full of self indulgent drama which I tolerated more back then(I still do, and like the song too, the beat is catchy to my brain), and I still like that particular line.

You're right it is, I always get that mixed up when I'm belting it out horrendously in my car. They're one of my favorite bands to, went on a binge and listened to nothing but them for a month or so a while back.

Hip-Hop is immortal
It's survived many attacks and many wars using, our minds eyes to portal
Folding the spaces between generations and races
So what we can come closer throught the struggle
It's easy to move muscle, bone, skin and sinew
Movement of the mind is the type grind I'm into
So I kick the mental over sick instrumentals
Get respect with the pencil, never flex with the stencil
I'm in love with the artform that still keeps my heart warm
Presented with the most virtous intent but in a hand form
They say Hip-Hop is dead, assassinated by niggas
But on the charts I read all the hits was by niggas
There's no surrealer drama, they wanna steal her from ya
Take her out to a field in the woods but we ain't gonna let 'em kill the hood
Can't kill it with the pistol, can't beat it with ya chain
Can't crush it with your rims, but you can save it with your pain
As long as we breathe, Hip-Hop gonna breathe with us
As long as we real, folk can't help but feel us
The White Manifest Desitiny got 'em they dirty land
But no matter how clean they shave, they got them dirty hands
My story says what his-story doesn't
In the passage of my people they tried to murder all my cousins
They celebrate they Independence and ask us to forget how they abused it
But we remind them everyday coming gangsta with this music
I'll see your CunninLynguists and raise you Hieroglyphics.
A-Plus
A to the, Plus must do ya, bust through ya
Defenses with lyrics mentally muscular
Holdin down like cement shoes to make oyu drown right
This what we do if we the crew you Sound Like
I can't stand a person bitin' someone's creativity
I have so many styles you can take one as a gift from me
It's like deja vu whenever they pop that tape in
Lyin' more than Satan, fallin' off like they was ice skatin'
Trying to get they mic taken, you get scolded
And Chastized, my holy mic is baptized
Givin' flatlines to your rap guys and still send you
back with black eyes, on the mic you tellin' fat lies...

Did I mention that's a free style?

As for something other than Hip Hop... easily the greatest and most bad ass line ever delivered to open a song ever...

"FUCKIN' BOW DOWN!!!" from "Bow Down" by Born of Osiris.

In jest...

"Calling unprotected girls/infected girls do it better!" Electric Six - Infected Girls

And more seriously... this is actually pretty difficult because I normally only listen to instrumental songs. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

"Faster than the fastest horse alive!" - Manowar
"Oh yeah, yeah. Hallowed be thy name. yeah, yeah, yeah. Hallowed be thy name" - Iron Maiden
"Keep Hollywood out of Winnipeg" - The Teenage Knockups (Citing a local band almost seems like an inside joke, and that totally sucks, but the band slays. nuff said.)

Theres not enough time to list all the great quotes in music, nevermind distilling it to a favorite. Madness! I say.

uhh uhhh i just remember!!

Tenaciuos D!- wonder boy

Now it's time for me to tell you about Young Nastyman,
archrival and nemesis of Wonderboy, with powers comparable to Wonderboy.
What powers you ask? I dunno how 'bout the power of flight?
That do anything for ya? That's levitation, holmes.
How 'bout the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away...
with mind bullets! That's telekinesis, Kyle.
How 'bout the power to move you?

Master of Puppets by Metallica

"Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your MASTER
MASTER
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
MASTER
MASTER
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
MASTER
MASTER"

Eulogy by Tool

What it was that you had said to me,
Like I care at all.

So loud.
You sure could yell.
You took a stand on every little thing
And so loud."

Personally, I like this part better:

"You've claimed all this time that you would die for me.
Why then are you so surprised when you hear your own
eulogy?"
