Best RTS?

Definately Dawn of War, with all the expansions. Pricy, but worth it, by far.

Never had more fun with any rts then with C&C Red Alert 2+ Yuri's Revenge so they get my vote.

Age of Mythology gets a decent mention with me though too. Loved that games uniqueness.

comeand and conquer genarals 2 theres something mistical about the sucide boomers and toxin warheads. my favorate genaral is dr. Tharkxs in saying that comeand and conquer is a good game franchie

I'll settle with a tie between Rise of Nations and Age of Mythology.

If this post was about strategy games in general, I'd have to say Rome: Total War. Greatest game in the series.

My vote goes out to all the age of mythologies/empires and the command and conquer series, some of the most addicting games. Yuri's revenge started me on gaming so it is clearly my favourite.

I mean dancing Stalin, are you really gonna tell me theres something better in this world than watching the radicalist leader of soviet Russia dancing to indie trance music while martins attack the planet earth.

No really, "Dawn of War" and "Age of Empires" are quite possibly the best.

I would say Warcraft 3 was my favorite, but Starcraft was also an excellent game. Both are really balanced and structured. I would recommend both to anyone who likes RTS.

Age of Empires doesn't have anything on starcraft. Red Alert 2 Was okay... I guess.. but I've played many RTS's and Starcraft takes the cake

You'd be wrong on that score. I've played Starcraft, used to play it a lot, and my RTS of choice is none other than Age of Mythology, which I still play with my friends to this day.

Dawn of War is really fun. I'm only a little bit through it, but it's easy and fun. I'm also playing Empire Earth, which is a cool historical game. I'm about to attack Troy. Apparently it was made by the same guy who did Age of Empires.

Im going to say Age of Empires 2 as i played a hell of that and never got bored of it

I second this. Age of Empires III and Age of Mythology were also great games, but AOEII will always hold a soft spot for me. Black Forest Map FTW!

EDIT: I completely forgot Rise of Nations. Big Huge did a good job with this game.

Starcraft - well balanced races, with no rpg malarkey.
I've had the best multi-player RTS experiences on Battle.net or LAN with Starcraft.
(not Starcraft: Brood War)

Other great RTS Games:

Warcraft III: the Frozen Throne - (What can I say about this one?...you probably know if you like it or not by now.)
Dawn of War (1) - Awesome single-player campaign;
the capture points, the units upgradable weapons and the ability to reinforce squads are a welcome change to the RTS genre.
Red Alert 2 - Best RTS game of the Red Alert or Command & Conquer series.

This. RA3 is just RA2, with more scantily-clad women flirting with you. It's like Yahtzee's wet dream, a good video game with a pair of tits stuck on it.

Dawn of War gets my vote. Alot of fun. Doesen't shy away from violence and blood. And the Blood Ravens rule.
