Best soundtrack from a movie.

So the other day I watched The Expendables, and it had a pretty good soundtrack. It had some CCR, Mississippi Queen, and afew other good songs. What is your favorite soundtrack from a movie? My vote goes to Animal House.

I've been into the District 9 soundtrack lately. The Fountain has some truly starry-eyed, bittersweet music. The Lord of the Rings soundtrack is good as well - every characters leitmotif is used really well. Everything Hans Zimmer does seems to turn to gold as well, although I don't like everything by him. The Pirates of the Carribean 2 soundtrack is pretty awesome though.

The 1986 Transformers movie had an amazing soundtrack.

The Touch gets a lot of attention, but Dare is the better song.

As far as actual scores go, Elliot Goldenthal's Alien 3 score is a masterpiece. Adagio is an especially great piece.

Lost in Translation has one of my favorite scores.
That whole soundtrack sounds very distant - works perfectly with the movie.
