Best deal: Saint's Row the Third + all DLC - $7.49

Worst Deal: Doom 3 BFG - $14.99 (Reason being because I can't get the fucking game to get to the fucking menu screen which essentially means I paid for a broken game. Did the same thing with Crysis...)

I am really enjoying the Darksiders franchise(Didn't get THQ pack since I already owned most of the games)
Pretty much everything by THQ is cheap as hell at the moment.
How are the controls for darksiders on a keyboard? I'm just wondering because I may buy darksiders 2 tonight and I want to make sure it controls alright since I usually play third person games on console.

Spec Ops The Line for 10 bucks.
The Witcher 2 for 7.50 that could also be redeemed on GoG (The enhanced edition fixes most of my complaints about the original edition by adding a bloody tutorial)
All the Hitman games (Bar Absolution and Contracts) for 6.25.
I also bought Dungeon Defenders + All it's DLC for a mate for 12.50. He's the only member of our group of gaming buddies that didn't have it, so I thought I'd just do that to even things out for him.

They're pretty good and responsive. Then again, it's rather simplistic compared to say, God of War.
All your primary attacks are done with the left mouse button and the special moves are based on timing rather than combos.

And Darksiders II has rebindable keys in case you don't like them. If all else fails you can plug in a controller.

Both KOTORs Fable TLC and Deus Ex HR for $20 total. Playing Fable during break and the others will be backlogged for months.

spec ops for $10 and witcher 2 in the summer sale for 7.50
both were amazing games and spec ops became a goty and withcer is the definition of a good western rpg for me. I would have easily handed over 60 for each without a second thought

I've spent around £130 on the sale, not just steam though .. GoG, Gamefly and Gamersgate had sales as well.

Couldn't possibly say which one was the best bargain because I can't remember what the hell I bought.

I'll take a wild guess at the DoW games. Every single one for £8.

Most of the games I wanted I nabbed on similar sales throughout the year or can't afford right now(Farcry 3...), and this years sale was a bit lackluster compared to last years[footnote]I'm not saying it's a bad sale by any stretch of the imagination, just compared to last years super-sale[/footnote].
But I still grabbed They Bleed Pixels, Ace of Spades, the Spiral Knights DLC for about $2 each down from about $10 each so I'm pretty happy happy with that.

The best deal i've got this year was dead pixels for $1.99, i've sunk hours into it and it's still fun, i might get dungeon defenders tonight.

Last year, the best game i picked up was FTL, and i still have a lot of fun with that one

Well, I didn't get it from Steam, but the best deal I got was Sleeping Dogs from GreenManGaming for $11.50. They even gave me $6 of on-site credit (that I didn't expect), which I used to get The Book of Unwritten Tales for $1.

I don't know if the $6 credit was a glitch, but I'm thankful for the Christmas Present, GreenManGaming!

As far as Steam, I've gotten Dark Souls, Crysis 2, and a bunch of indie games. So yeah, pretty happy with this year's Steam sale.

L4D2 at £3.49 (£11 for four). I know its been out a while, but for that price I got myself and five friends a copy for less than £20. Hands down the Christmas present I have gotten most enjoyment out of giving.

Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes & Fairy Bloom Freesia.

Granted they are really all I bought so it has to be them.

Steam sales were pretty awful this year - rehashes of things they've had better deals on in the past, or at best, simply matching older deals.

Sites like GMG, gog and amazon have blown steam out of the water as far as recent sales on good games. Between low base costs + coupon codes, they've often been $10 or more cheaper than steam. It's not the end of the world or anything, but steam has a lot of catching up to do. One or two more seasons of shitty deals and they'll lose their cornered digital games market.

I got all 5 Prince of Persia games for 12 bucks which is a pretty good win in my book.

Now if Cliffs of Dover would dip below the 35% mark id get another good deal

Hotline Miami turned out to be preeetty good at £3.50. I passed on the Walking Dead when it was in a daily sale which I'm now regretting, so I'm hoping that comes up in the last few days in a flash sale or a voting thing.
