Probably Inglorious Basterds. The first 15 minutes, the scene in the tavern, the scene in the restaurant. Holy crap that movie was good.

Inglorious Bastards is AWESOME!!

Green Mile is definitely my favorite though. Suppose it can be counted as talky because nothing extreme really happens but you are just drawn in immediately.

Aquatic Language and Voices of a Distant Start, both 9 and 25 minute anime, respectively. The second one is especially impressive, it was done by one guy on his mac, with a friend doing music, and other friends doing voices.

citizen kane, Inglorious basterds, The moon, and...... well I think my brain is frazzled..... oh wait The Window, by hitchcock.... and if anybody says disturbia was better they are just suckin on somebodies cahoneys....

Oh and fightclub had some good dialogue, although I think (and I am guilty of this too) it gets too easily overlooked as an action flick

Waking life is the only one I've seen, along with A Scanner Darkly.

A great recent film is Inglorious Basterds. Probably not one to watch with the boy, but each and every dialog is invested with enough tension to snap the wires on the Golden Gate bridge.

i may be a bit confused on the definition of a 'talky' movie, haha. I'll have to go with Memento tho, lots of dialogue, a bit of mystery, and strings of parts where he is telling stories and narrating his life/talking to himself.

Also, The Following and Pi. both amazing movies as well.

Good god, how could anybody possibly think that Watchmen counts as a "talky" movie? It might not have been The Bourne Identity but it was an action movie, man.

oh erm "Lost in Translation" probably? Nothing really happens, but the feelings of isolation are expressed very well and Bill Murray is on excellent form.
Seconded. I can watch that movie dozens of times and not get tired of it.

Inglorious Basterds has so much talking in it, I got bored. I have really short attention spanners are great, aren't they?

The action was good, but I was falling asleep in between.
