Although they're still ongoing:

Castle and The Big Bang Theory

I also loved Sarah Conner Chronicles.

Besides that I don't watch much TV

And of course, nerd choice:
Firefly

Theres too many to choose from!

  • The Wire
    Band of Brothers
    Life on Mars (Original series)
    The Office (Original series)
    The IT Crowd
    Misfits

Theres definetly more, but I'm quite hungover and these are the first that spring to mind...

It ran on Spike in 2006, it was the highest rated show on the network at the time Spike axed it. I had some doubts at first, especially seeing a Blade played by someone other than Wesley Snipes, but Kirk Jones does a pretty awesome job. I actually prefer him to Snipes now.

I dont think I will prefer him above Snipes. No one can be a better Blade then that Wesley Snipes in my own opinion.

The Wire. That show basically ruined TV for me, particularly TV dramas, because I know nothing will ever be as good as that ever again.

Battlestar Galactica
The Walking Dead
Breaking Bad
Rubicon
Stargate: Universe
Eureka
Samurai Jack

I could go on and on, but I'll repost once I've had some time to consider a more cohesive and thorough list.

Band of Brothers and Top Gear come to mind. Various gritty British police shows, but they start to blend into each otehr after a while.

The Wire. Everything everyone says about it is true.

Deadwood. Al Swearengen is one of the greatest fictional characters based on a real-life person ever. Cocksucker.

Alias. J.J. Abrams finds various reasons for Jennifer Garner to dress in underwear and swimsuits. With a kick-arse cast of character actors, and ridiculous macguffins, this is very enjoyable T.V.

The West Wing started in '99, and Buffy in '97 so I don't think they count, however I should say that Aaron Sorkin writes so well it makes me a little high.

There are plenty of TV shows I really like such as The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd, The Flight of the Conchords, but you can't compare them to the big guns.
