So pretty self explanatory, what are the best shows (new or old) that you have seen for the first time recently? Towards the end of 2010 I started watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand and became obsessed with it. I now spend all my time waiting for the new episode of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena to come out and eventually season 2. Anyone who has not seen this show I suggest you go watch it now.

I also started watching a show called Rescue Me recently and am currently halfway through season 2. It follows the lives of firefighters in the FDNY after the 9/11 attacks specifically one alcoholic with a broken marriage. Really enjoying it so far.

Also Shit my Dad Says and Blue Bloods have surprised me with how good they are, both were much better than I expected they would be (only got shit my dad says because it had William Shatner and I'm an old Boston Legal fan) and are both quite watchable.

If you haven't guessed, yes I am trying to scope for new shows that I can watch when these finish.

I also enjoy Spartacus, saw the first couple a episodes, loadsa boobies and violence.. But eventually as all other series, i never come around to seeing all episodes..

I don't really watch alot of TV unless im visiting people, if im at home im usually on the pc instead..

But every time i can, i like to watch Two and a half men, that really hits my gigglebutton..

I don't know about the seeing first time, as I like to re-watch a bunch of series. And I can't really remember when it was the first time seeing a show.

I'm currently watching through all of Scrubs[footnote]There is no season 9. It ends after season 8.[/footnote], but beside that:

The Wire
Deadwood
Boardwalk Empire
QI
Whose Line Is It Anyway
How I Met Your Mother
The Count of Monte Cristo (1998, a French mini-series with Gerard Depardieu)
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Fawlty Towers
Dexter
Peep Show
The Mitchell And Web Look
... and so on

I generally prefer TV series over movies.

Sorry Supernatural died after like Season 2 for me... I don't mind Big Bang Theory but I'm not hooked on it like HIMYM or Spartacus. I forgot to mention Hawaii Five-0 Watched that a bit the other night, didn't seem all that bad, but kind of thing I'd only watch if it's already on, if you know what I mean.

I'm endlessly addicted to How I Met Your Mother, and loving Lie to Me, entirely because Tim Roth has the perfect eyes for his character.

I absolutely love Breaking Bad.

Almost entirely because I love how the two main characters interact [with each other], though the rest of it is wonderful as well.

Series actually have time to progress and shows like The Wire and Deadwood are just so amazing one can't even begin to compare them with movies. I used to debate the whole TV series versus movies with a friend who has 1500+ movie DVD's and studies directing. The argument never went anywhere. You can't reason with those people.

But I can heartily recommend any show from the list in my previous post.

Here's a few TV shows i've started to watch recently, all of which I strongly recommend.

Boardwalk Empire
Mad Dogs
Castle
How I Met Your Mother
Battlestar Galactica (I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did)
The Walking Dead (I liked the series so much I shelled out £120 on the 6 hardbacks that are out at the moment, I also recommend them pretty strongly!)

The new drama 'Outcasts' is pretty damn good. My favorite thing to put on when I get in from work.

It's like if the game 'Alpha Centuri' knocked up the tv series 'Rome', and this was their child. Great stuff.

Right now I'm watching Dollhouse, a really weird and so cool series about agents that have their original personalities wiped and are then programmed into becoming the perfect... Well, whatever the client wants! It's really interesting and nailbitingly intense. Highly recommend it!
