Well I'm no fan of the Japanese offerings (Unless that offering was a 1986 Toyota Trueno Sprinter AE86 in black and white) and I DO love a good American muscle car. The General Lee, Bullitt's 1968 Mustang 390GT fastback (what a noise!) and the pant-wettingly insane Viper.

Whilst I respect and am in total awe of the Veyron as an engineering masterpeice, if I were pushed to choose one car it would be the McLarean Mercedes SLR.

I'm sorry, but the only image that the Toyota Camry puts forward is that of an interminably dull person. I maintain that the Camry contributes the most to attacks of narcolepsy on American roads, and they don't even sell it in Europe because it's so dull.

Toyota Camry: Because your washing machine isn't road-legal.
This doesn't look that dull to me.

Nowadays, if you want to advertise to the world that you've given up and just don't give a crap any more, 99% of japanese cars will do just fine!

It may sound wierd, but they're too good at what they do when what they do isn't very interesting. So, basically they're suffering from an overload of dullness!

Fair enough but if you take a look at the other cars (not counting the GTR) they are a LOT more expensive than the atom. Sorry I should have put that in in the first place.

Hate tuners because they are usually a massive compromise to get the result. For example the Mitsubishi Evo, some will take it can do a lap as fast as a Lambo but the funny thing is the Lambo does not suffer from horrendous turbo lag and doesn't need to be serviced every 5,000 miles and almost any tuner car you mention has a huge downside like that.

Muscle cars, or getting the least power from the largest engine possible. I don;t hate them I just don't see the point.

A guy who lives round the corner from me has one of these, I saw him in it last night. It looks nice on his driveway, parked next to the Carrera GT, Koenigsegg CCX, Ferarri Enzo, 911 GT3RS, Aston V12 Vanquish, Lamborghini Murcielago, 355 F1 and Bentley Continental GT.

Don't ask what he does for a job, I reckon he's a hitman or something!! Nice guy though, he didn't mind when I asked if I could have wander around his collection.

Same thing applies with most Korean cars. They're built like white goods - merely as a form of conveyance. German companies are less likely to suffer from the effects of this, because their upper divisions seem to always be embroiled in a power war.
I'm of the opinion that I'd rather have a quirky car with flaws than a soul-draining box. I work in a bodyshop doing accident repairs and it's bad enough just working on them. When the fancier cars like Astons etc, or the more interesting classics turn up, I can feel the ebbing away of my soul cease!

Cost is indeed a huge plus point for the Atom. But for 30 grand, I could build something much much faster. The Atom does look stunning though, and I suspect the chassis is a pretty healthy chunk of the cost of the car as it's a beautiful piece of engineering.

I'm a big fan of low weight cars, powered by motorcycle engines. I can't think of anywhere else you could get 500bhp from a 1300cc 4cyl and have it still useable every day.

Everyone knows the pinnacle of car building was reached in 1955; the Jaguar D Type.

hmmm... I like a lot of cars, classic American Muscle is always good, anything pre 75, unless its Ford then pre 70.

But im also a tuner girl, currently i have a Japanese Domestic Market Subaru Impreza WRX STi, in the US, which means Right Hand Drive, 2.5 litre STi engine, Precision Turbo SC61 Dual Ball Bearing turbo, etc, makes about 400 awhp right now.

Then again in the past two years ive owned: 1989 Nissan 240SX, 1966 Mustang Coupe w/ 351 Windsor Swap, 1994 Mazda RX-7, 1997 Subaru Legacy GT, 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II, 1996 Subaru Impreza Brighton Coupe w/ WRX 2.0 Swap and APS SR30 Turbo, 1993 Mazda RX-7 and now i have my STi.

So im a major car girl, i couldnt live without my cars. I race on the tracks and in the mountains.

I like cars that are small, comfortable and nimble. My old Ford Escort was like a grasshopper on coffee, even if you gently caressed gas it flew off like fireworks. You could also turn it around on regular two way road without much sweat :p

Large cars feel bulky and uncomfortable, like driving a tank.

I honestly love cars from all three of your categories, so I can't pick just one to own. I'll have to pick one from each.

Exotics. They're just so beautiful.

Edit: I do like the other kinds as well. My family used to have a juiced up Volvo 850, so I might have a soft spot for tuned cars. It did require a lot of maintenance though.

Almost forgot: The Morris marina beats all the cars in this thread
