Best Valve Game?

Episode 2 is their best yet, despite its length.

I was genuinely shocked by the ending though. And after that final battle, if it had come any later...it might not have had the same impact, you know what I mean?

Yeah I agree, I was not greatly perturbed by its length, this instalment was such good quality that it seemed perfectly acceptable. It was only in episode one where the length was a serious issue because the quality was poor. But still hl2 and episodes are generally very good.

Wait, what's that? The quality of ep 1 was poor?

I mean, it was no where near as good as ep 2 or half life 2 itself, but I wouldn't call it poor...

I loved the final battle with the strider, and the escort mission to take citizens to the trains.

The first Half-Life (and the expansions). It's been getting progressively worse since then, with the exception of Portal.

My favourite is probably Half Life 2. I just love the whole theme of a band of rebels fighting against an oppressive empire. Has kinda the same appeal as the original star wars trilogy I guess.

Though Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 are excellent passtimes.

I'm going to cheat a little and say the orange box since it has so many great games in one convenient package.

Half-Life 2 was probably the best. The 2 episodes following shortly after. Half life one, would probably come in after those, Portal, then L4D. Haven't really gotten into TF2 or CS yet.
