I love me some Odin Sphere. One of my favorite games for PS2, hands down. Beautiful looking, neat story telling, and just magical music. You can get on PS3 for $10 in the PS2 classics section.

Grim Grimoire is interesting to say the least, and if you want an RTS-like experience on a console, that should be your pick. I think this is also in the PS2 classics section on PS3 for $10.

Dragon's Crown is one gorgeous beat-em-up. I haven't completed it yet, but it's super fun with friends. You can get it on PS3 or Vita, but the PS3 version is recommended because it doesn't slow down the combat if it gets way too hectic.

Haven't played Murumasa, but I plan on picking it up for my Vita at some point. It looks neat.

Believe me, I was emotionally dead after attempting it, and only managed to get about 75% done with full 100%. I did labor through the game to get all the endings and then the "true" final story. I didn't know what was worse, the fact that I sat through the game for so long, or the fact that I had actually preordered the game and had the commemorative beanie come with it. Still have the beanie too. :p
Really though I'm sure Odin Sphere will be fine for me, especially since I've also been recording Sonic Heroes lately...>.>
I know this man's pain. Trudging though Shadow the Hedgehog for 100% is a true challenge of someone's patience. And the real ending wasn't even worth it.

God, I hate that game. Boring, more boring, and just horrid. Blech. BUT, it was edgy. And edgy is good.

Awh.. You're missing out! Even if you don't think she's hot as hell, even if you don't love her fulsome funbags, her gameplay is second in awesome only to the Amazon's.
The thing is I can stand the Amazon and she is a ton of fun, I love the GOTTA GO FAST! Berserking mayhem with her.

But the Sorceress is just too much for me. And it makes it so much worse that her animations make her feel kind of... inept. "Oh gosh I can't run! Oh no how do I magic? Aw, gah, boobs in my face when I run!"

She is painted as a bumbling ditz who can make explosions, probably my accident.

It's honestly surprising to me how I was able to go through the game the first time to full completion but the other day I decided to try it again and see how bad it was and it was actually worse to play through now than it was back then.

I will say this about the game, it does have some excellent songs.

Grim Grimoire has been mentioned but I want to re-visit how absolutely amazing it is. I love all Vanillaware games (even played Princess Crown on PSP) but Grim Grimoire takes the cake for being both the most solid and inventive piece of software they've ever created.

If you're a die-hard RTS fan you won't find another with such an incredible depth of strategy. Each player (only 1P unfortunately) has access to all of the same units but with each Grimoire being so varied there is a HUGE variety of different strategies and play types; way more variation than the entire C&C series combined.

If you're not a die-hard RTS fan it'll be the most fun and engaging RTS you've ever played. A phenomenal story in it's own right with welcoming learning curve and some of the most beautifully and intricately crafted 2D sprites. Some units can take up the majority of the screen with several different individual moving sprites.

It's only downsides are the repetitious level sprites (which is made up for by unique units) and it's only par music selection (probably the weakest OST of any Vanillaware game).

It's the BEST RTS that's ever been developed for consoles (gtfo Halo Wars) with a clear and concise control scheme. If you have a PS3 def pick it up on PSN. If I could make a wish it would be a GG revamp with online multiplayer.

its funny that her intelligence is only second to the wizards then...anyways play the wizard instead, he is more powerful and less of a support based character. and basically plays the exact same.

and have you tried the elf? easily the best of the characters in my opinion, not overdone in the art department, and gameplay is fantastic, plus shes easily one of the toughest characters in the game and can take some of the most punishment out of the 6 characters.

and if you have tried the elf, then ignore my endless gushing of how awesome she is

back on topic: as per my earlier post i have an additional statement if you have to get only one of the games, get dragons crown, easily one of the best games on the ps3 currently (and if you get odins sphere and DON'T have a computer capable of running the ps2 emulator, get the PSN download for ps3, it doesn't lag that much at all for the most part, does have some but its not a gamebreaker by anymeans.)

Eh, I think I'll manage.
I mean heck, I actually went through Shadow the Hedgehog for 100% completion before, and if any game is a war for attrition, it's that game. Especially since it forces you to replay it do many times just to get the actual ending.
Alright yeah, if you could do Shadow the Hedgehog which was both a boring slog and had nothing really worthwhile to reach for, you'll be okay with Odin Sphere.

Dragon's Crown is by far the best game of it's type, though I cannot watch the sorceress in motion. It's just gross.

Don't like Sonic Heroes, or just tired of the Sonic games? I am kinda curious, since I mostly enjoyed Sonic Heroes. Also, how much would Dragon's Crown be, or is that just a free game? I've been thinking of at least giving it a try, but I'm kind of broke at the moment.

It's not that I don't like Sonic games, in fact I generally love Sonic games, it's that both Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Heroes have me play them too many times in order to actually get the true "final story". Granted it was worse in Shadow the Hedgehog, but Sonic Heroes levels got old after a while when you have to play through the same levels over and over again with the only ones that are truly different are the Chaotix missions. Plus I hated the special stage controls in Heroes since they were so wonky and you'd often get stuck on the ceiling. >.<

As for Dragon's Crown I believe it is $40 on the PS3 and I believe it is the same price on it for the PS Vita. I do know that the game allows for cross-play.

I never really played Wizard, but I enjoyed the Elf. My favorites were Amazon and Dwarf with Fighter and Elf tying for third. I especially liked flaming fists smash dwarf where I'd keep two weapons on me, use smash, and then have my unarmed attack super buffed with both unarmed skill trees.
