I'd say that yes, Ganandorf was good in Ocarina, but if you want to talk about the zelda bosses, he was much better during the last fight in Twilight Princess.
But yeah, Vergil's fucking awesome, in all three fights against him (...okay, so really, it's <color=white>six fights if you count Devil May Cry 1, which makes him even more awesome).
no just kidding id have to say the secret clocktower boss in kingdom hearts in the peter pan world, i never beat him cus he was so fuckin hard!!1one!
p.s. I think i suck at the game
While some might thing it's a crappy choice, The Great Mighty Poo is easily the best boss bowel there is. While you might throw up your arms and say "How corn a steaming pile of crap be a good boss fight?" I'll tell you that the whole affair is simply dung right.

I am absolutely with you here. The swelling score, the sound of Sibling Showdown followed by Vergil Battle 3... and the epic, powerful showdown as you use every ability and weapon you've gathered through the whole game to take him down.
He was hard, but in that way that makes you feel like a king when you beat him.

Hell yeah. It's funny, though, the part I find myself appreciating the most isn't the awesome storied fight at the end with what's tied for my favorite music from the game.
For some reason, I really find myself liking the last third of the second fight. I love Vergil Battle 2, and by that part of the fight, Vergil really is sort of your twin, because he's not only started using devil trigger, but he finally gives in and starts using Yamato again...in other words, he's finally using your weapon switching tactics.
I know he does the same thing in the last fight with Force Edge, but it's a lot easier to notice when he's using the vastly different Beowulf, so he's using an appropriate match for my usual Rebellion and Cerberus combo. Hell, in Dante Must Die, he even completes the set with a ranged weapon.

Count Doku in Revenge of the sith, he was badass enough for it not to be too easy but wasnt impossible to beat (well he was only the first boss) but it just made me feel so good totally whippin his ass... Rest of the game was just fun with force push/pull and lameness.
The water dragon in ninja gaiden 2 was kinda cool to, having to run on water and jump attack that mother to death was fun, until it stabbed you with its tentacle things
How has no one mentioned the Vizier in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones!? That boss battle was an absolutely spectacular event combining everything that I thought made the series great. It had a great way of working in the platforming, it didn't rely too heavily on the somewhat stick and shaky combat, and those speed kill sequences were just pure badassery high on adrenaline. Then then pseudo-boss that was the Dark Prince was pretty cool too. Now if only the other two bosses hadn't been so lacking...
I loved the final fight with Liquid in MGS4, it's just a straight fistfight but the way you start off using MGS1 fighting controls and then working up to the other games fighting styles as you damage him made it so epic.
