I'm not sure there is a 'best' character, because there are so many GREAT characters.
Arthas from Warcraft is a great character, And his arc through the games is just fascinating. To actually play them again, it's easy to see how he picked the best lot of some bad options, given what he knew.
Eleanor from Bioshock 2 is the first character in a game that I ever truly cared about... that's quite an achievement right there.
Garrett from Thief is just plain awesome. And that VOICE! It's hot. Liquid hot.
Garrus from Mass Effect is also just plain awesome. And that VOICE! Wait, noticing a trend here.

So yeah, I'd say April Ryan. In fact, pretty much every character from that series (I especially loved the multiple narratives in Dreamfall, so you could see that the Azadi Empire and the rebels were both shades of grey, rather than one being good and the other bad...). Okay, I'm babbling here, aren't I...?

Well, he did make the promise, and it's not his fault that Funcom's bosses decided to pull everyone off every other project to work on The Secret World. Anyway, he made it clear that Chapters would be released eventually, no matter what, given the ambiguous ending to Dreamfall (personally I don't think April is really dead, since there's still the whole Lady Alvane thing to figure out). Though regarding Lady Alvane, I don't think it's coincidence she has the same surname as Kian. But it's not going to be as straightforward as we think, because knowing the way the story has gone so far there's bound to be a twist in the tale somewhere from old Ragnar...Keava said:
