Yes, most (or at least a large number) of us agree that Valve is an exceptional video game company, even though the development time of their games tend to last till the Rapture. But aside from Valve, which video company do you consider your favorite?

What do you mean 'aside from Valve'? They're nice, but I like Atlus.

Valve is a great developer but I'm not sure I like they're company practices, this may be because I haven't had a good experience with Steam, but anyway that's besides the point, anyway I'm with Jack the only game company that has never pissed me off with it's practices and consistently publishes great games and risky projects is Atlus, I love Atlus.

My favourite will always be classic Nintendo, from the beginning to 2005, I think.

I.. I can't answer that. Oh lawdy. I don't know if i'd even classify Valve as great.

It's a compeition for who can screw their fans the least, and no one wins.

Harmonix.

Rock Band has had new DLC available every week for the past 5 years. That is major dedication to a fanbase in my book.

They also make great music/rythym games.

Okay, this is just blatant fanboyism but you can't go wrong with those guys.

Honourable mention to Eidos Montreal, Obsidian, and Bethesda.

My favourite are Platinum Games (and the former Clover Studio) and Grasshopper Manufacture Platinum Games had so far been a hit and awesome to play with their games. While Grasshopper Manufacture games had either been a hit or a miss but at least their games add humours and trying to be different.

I don't have favorite videogame companies; I have favorite videogames.

Sorry, but I really can't put it any other way. Every developer has had ups and downs, good games and bad games, and I see no reason to herald one particular studio as being the best.

Valve is far from my favourite developer...

My favourite would have to b Remedy, followed by Starbreeze. Both are very talented developers, with a knack for storytelling and gameplay.

Rockstar wins it for me, by a longshot. The GTA series, Red Dead Redemption, Bully, The Warriors. Sure they've made some bad ones too (State Of Emergency. Yuck!) but they are usually few and far between.

I was considering L.A. Noire to the list of good games, but that was more of a Team Bondi production right?

Despite all the haters, i'm gonna say Blizzard, based on their previous games.
Worth mentioning also; Rockstar, Crytek and Bioware(pre-EA era).

1) Bioware
2) Blizzard
3) Nintendo

After that it doesn't matter to me. I enjoy Valve games, but they wouldn't fall on my top 10 list. They make great games with little replay value IMO.

Atlus, definitely. They release a fairly high number of quality titles, and they're usually pretty good to their fans.

No doubt Atlus gets my "Favorite Developer" award.
