Anway, there are too many good games with different reasons as to why they are good.
It's like asking, "What's your favorite? Oxygen or Food?"

I don't know why people keep going on about a flame war, there isn't any hint of that whatsoever. There's nothing wrong with sharing your opinion of what your favourite game is, just as long as we keep it civil.

It's really hard to pick, as I love different games for different things. Grand Theft Auto 3 would definitely be one - up until that point, I had never had so much fun playing a video game, and I'd been gaming since the NES era. Metal Gear Solid 2 would be another - so incredibly immersive, I was completely in love with that story. Finally, Silent Hill 2 (which I played long before I discovered ZP) - I don't think I'd ever been so moved emotionally by a game, nor had I ever been so incredibly scared. These are all games that I continue to play despite all the glitz and glamour (and really good quality, frankly) of the new games I have for my PS3.

But you know what, I'm picking Rock Band 2 as my favourite game. I fucking LOVE FAKE GUITAR and DRUMS - that is a game that I can play over and over and over again every freaking day and NEVER be bored for a second. LONG LIVE RB!

Left 4 Dead was one of my favorite games, but it certainly isn't the best. If it had no bugs and a ton more content then I'd reconsider. Anyway everything's subjective, until they make a game with basically has tens of thousands of new features that have never been done before with top notch graphics(no pre-rendered cut scenes) and riveting story.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, Bioshock may be game of the year 2007, but god damn 2 playthroughs of that game on the hardest difficulty and i can never touch it again, has absolutely zero re playability, only shovel ware games get me that bored playing again, but it was a roller coaster ride the way though. And some games i won't even touch, JRPG's like Pokemon I was a huge fan of, and i wished i got to play Earthbound when it was released, but Final Fantasy? I see it as like the twilight of video games, and Halo the Disney of video-games,and Gears of War the mtv of videogames(gow2 is above average though)

Each to their own i guess.

Borderlands is doing it for me now.
Just hit level 50 with Lilith. Woop!

Playthrough 2 is cool. The baddies are much tougher.
How the hell did you get level 50 in playthrough 1? I'm impressed. Also playthrough 2 is pretty damn fun, I love that game.

I didn't lol, I hit level 50 just before fighting Krom in playthrough 2.

The bandits and stuff are still easy as shit, but the spiderants can sure soak those bullets up.

There was one area near the Underpass with a weapons crate by a sentry-gun tower, I shit you not at least 25 of them spawned on me over the course of a hectic 5 minute battle. Matriarchs, Bad Mutha Shockers, Bad Mutha Corrosives, Kings... It was pretty exhilarating!

Bioshock does suffer from some awful repitition towards the end. I love the game so much until you get to the apartment blocks, it seems to go downhill for me there.

Hopefully the pacing and enemy level- scaling will be better implemented in the second one, if they get those right we'll be looking at an all time great.
