I also would say the special cg intro for the FFVI playstation release was pretty solid too, but I am a little (a lot) biased on that one.

The Warhammer Openings are known for being top notch, even if some of the games aren't up to snuff.

Borderlands did have a great opening. Ain't No Rest for the Wicked, baby. Still, it was annoying that you couldn't skip the monologue at the beginning...

Fallout 3's was pretty good as well.

I think I'd have to give it to Mass Effect 2 though. It starts you in an exploding ship and kills you three minutes later. The mark of a game that doesn't screw around.

Wha.. Ahh... SPOILERS! The Fuck!!!! Ah, Just messing with yah, Ive played Mass Effect 2 four times now, plus they gave the opening away in the trailer months before it came out. I agree with you, ME 2 has the best opening of any game.
