I'm assuming most of these will be NPCs since a PC can't be too fleshed out or it will be hard to put anything of yourself into them. I would argue that Shepherd, Revan and every other BioWare hero (Don't get me wrong I love them all) doesn't really count for the reason that they have just enough space for us to get into their story and not just be the guy/girl pulling their strings.
Wander in Shadow Of the Colossus. He says almost nothing but he never needs to say anything, it's all right there in front of you.
No, this is not your favorite character, nor is this the most kick-ass character, I am looking for what you think the best made game character is based on how they are described and fleshed out by their in-game story, so the snake from "snake" would be a lesser character than say... Haggard from bad company 2.
So my input, the best character in my opinion would have to either be Kaim Argonar (Lost odyssey) Because of the mini-stories the game does giving a massive backstory to kaim.
It's the true final boss to Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
Throughout the original Kirby games (the Dreamland series), there has been a character Named Nightmare, who was the true final boss. In Dreamland 3, Nightmare turned into a giant floating eyeball named simply Zero (which so happened to bleed).
Zero-Two is, thus far, the final form of Zero.
Apparently from the backstory, Zero desired to be good, in a world of nothing but goodness and happyness. However, due to what it was (that being the embodiment of darkness), he was unable to do so, and thus tried to turn all of Dreamland into darkness because of his sorrow. Yet he still tried, yet in the end of Kirby 64, upon seeing Kirby, he was filled with rage and he showed his form as 02.
Interestingly enough, with the halo above his head and the six wings, 02 is based loosely off of the design of the Seraphim, the highest ranking creatures to exist in heaven below God.
...Sorry 'bout blabbing your ears off *sheepish grin*
I am gonna say Caim [http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Drakengard/Update%2028/5-dg2-caim.jpg] from Drakengard. Good and strong character. One of the only approved "silent protagonsists", in my book.
It's the true final boss from Kirby 64. It's a being who tried to fit into a world of nothing but kindness and happiness while being the embodiment of darkness.
Originally it was Zero (not Nightmare, like I told Darktau, oops), who controlled the Dark Matter (primary antagonist in the series)
Zero-Two is the evolved form of Zero, and believes that because it cannot feel happiness, then nothing else should be able to either.
It also has a bandage under it's halo, in reference to
The last form of Zero is just a red, bloody eyeball with the white portion gone. Can't find a working picture
