I like the final fantasy soundtrack, but I really like SSFIV soundtrack, mainly the remixes that are in the game though.

I've actually recently been listening to a lot of Jesper Kyd's work on Assassin's Creed 2. Leonardo's Inventions and Ezio's family are two of my favorite compositions in gaming. For some reason, all the music in Dead Rising also comes to mind. I was browsing a mall the other day and I found one of the main themes stuck in my head. The juxtaposition of what's going on in the game versus the song you're hearing in that game sort of makes it hilarious, and certainly adds to the surreal concept. Those little cookie-cutter shopping jingles are forever in the back of my head.

My favorite soundtracks come from Chrono Cross, and Suikoden 2. The ambience in both games is striking due to their brilliant music.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Final Fantasy VIII had some great game music along with Shadow Hearts II: Covenant

For licensed Game Music I guess Gran Turismo series.

The Hitman series has one of the best scores I've ever heard in a game franchise.

My personal favorite would probably have to be this (epic) little number from Hitman 2: Silent Assassin.

Jesper Kyd is quite excellent. I loved what he did with the two Assassin's Creed games' soundtracks as well.

I personally LOVE the FF7:Crisis Core music, especially "Fufilled desires" and "Why" They are so beautifully made they alway get the tears welling up.

Pretty much any Final Fantasy game, FF6 in particular. Fuck anything by Nobuo Uematsu or any of the other FF composers (can't recall them off the top of my head) are made of win.

Mega Man series is also made of awesome sauce.

Anything by Diasuke Ishawatari (Guilty Gear, Blazblue) is made of ass kick.

Shadow of the Colossus is pretty damn good.

Best FF sound track in recent years, love what they did with Sephiroths theme, SOLDIER battle kicks ass, and all the ambient tracks are great. Truth Behind the Experiment was a really neat one as I love violin.
