As the name says, in your opinion, what's the best way a video game broke the fourth wall? Also you can't say anything that involves tutorials.

Well in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, if you play as Dead Pool, you eventually fight Dead pool and he joins your party, later in the level in a conversation your dead pool says something like how come noone else notices theres two deadpools in here, wheres the contiunitiy person.

Glory of Heracles. The game's tutorial goes out of its way to let you know that that girlish-looking guy is actually a girl... and can't put on a good disguise to save her life.

Conker's Bad Furday Live and Reloaded. They changed up the first section of the game and Conker actually mentions that it didn't work the same way in the first game.

The boss fight against Psycho Mantis in MGS where in order to hurt him, you need to unplug the controller and plug it in to port 2. Also the bit in the begining where you have to look on the back of the game case to find out the codec fequence to contact Myrel.

Pretty sure you are.

I second Destroy All Humans 2.

Metal Gear Solid. Horribly overrated game series, but very clever 4th wall humor.

Assassin's Creed II:

"Itsa me, Mario!" I laughed out loud at how such a ridiculous line could be in such a serious game.

And Batman: Arkham Asylum when Scarecrow gases you for the third time and the "Reversed opening cutscene" where Joker has Batman tied up in the Batmobile, if you try to skip the cutscene a little icon pops up in the corner that says "Press J to skip." There is no J button obviously.

I wouldn't consider the Mario joke to be a 4th wall break, since it doesn't directly acknowledge or consider the player, but it WAS a really funny moment.

The scarecrow sequences in Batman were, in my opinion, some of the best parts of that game.

I remember enjoying the Psycho Mantis fourth-wall break. You actually had to get up and go to your console to beat him (or have an easier time of it).

MGS 3 had a bit of breaking the forth wall, with the sorrow "fight" the more you kill the more you have to avoid (to a point).

I think MGS are the best for these occurrences.

The tutorial level of Kotor is the only one that stands out in my mind. It was actually quite disturbing, because the little support character guy kept switching between giving you game mechanic instruction to plot related stuff with no real rhyme or reason.
