Socially unacceptable behaviour encompasses a wide array of behaviours and "quirks". To say that socially unacceptable behaviour is the definition of insanity is to ignore the fact that every single individual has, at some point, did something that is considered socially unacceptable. If your definition is correct then every single person on the planet is insane. But that's not true, is it now?
It is inconsistent because there's no acceptable norm by which someone is considered insane. Socially unacceptable behaviour does not denote insanity and it never has.
Actually it kinda looks like you're making my point for me. What you consider to be socially unacceptable and I consider to be socially unacceptable are quite different and yet there are few forms of such behaviour that have not, at one time, been considered to be a marker of insanity. Cleaning, masturbation, blowing your nose, swearing and many others have been indicators of insanity or at least have been used by people to demark insanity in people.
You seem quite keen to pick apart my own view on the subject without actually providing any evidence or information to back it up, just simply stating you don't agree. Using illogical arguments could also be considered an indicator of insanity. As for your only statement, yes, everyone in the world would be considered insane, but not necessarily in their own countries, their own cultures or even their own time, as I have said already. The parameters change regularly and there is no global definition for insanity, each country having their own views on the subject. You really should read up on this. Personally I think it's fascinating we use insanity in such a derogatory way without having any firm definition for it.
