So far all I can think of are the Dragon Age franchise, Dragons Dogma and The Witcher 2.

Anyone else got any other big RPGs that are worth my time and that'll keep me occupied for about 2 months?

Jeez 2 months?
All I can think of that might occupy you that long is Skyrim...
But damn, that's a long time to be playing one game for.

I didn't mean one game to occupy all that time lol.
I've just finished DA2 and can't find the disk 1 of The Witcher 2, so I'm looking for an alternative until I can sort that.

Well I don't know if you have The Witcher 2 on PC or 360 but if you have it on PC and bought the physical copy you can get the GOG version for free.

What do you want us to say, man? Depending on your personal tastes, it'd be one of the three you mention, plus Skyrim and Dark Souls. If you like story-based games, go for Dragon Age or the Witcher. If you want something with a combat system, play Dark Souls. If you want to just wander around doing your own thing, play Skyrim. I don't know enough about Dragon's Dogma to comment, but from what I've heard, it seems to be a combination of the latter two.

They're all pretty massive, so you could probably make them last two months, though with the exception of Skyrim, you'd have to stretch it out a bit.

I wouldn't vote Dragons Dogma, its a terrible and repetitive RPG with bland design and under powered mechanics character wise --- the only redeeming thing from that title was the pawn system which was very original. A game where you can borrow characters other people have leveled up and outfitted is an awesome idea --- but other than that unearthed piece of gold, its a pile of sh...

You could very well play Skyrim for two whole months --- that is if you wanted to play all of the DLC and took your time basically doing everything.

And if you haven't... well you could go back and play Morrowind and Obilivion.

Of course yes there is Dragon Age or you can go old school and play Baulder's Gate and Baulder's Gate II -- that should take you quite a while.

From the last few years?

Skyrim had the best world design and the best mod capability. 100-300 hours worth of game.

Witcher 2 had the best story and the best graphics. 30-40 hours worth of game.

Divinity had the best combat. 70-80 hours worth of game.

You've got the recently released Wasteland 2 which is about 40-60 hours if I recall their assertions correctly.

Obviously there are a lot more if you go back further, but you asked for "best" and "recent".

Well I'm sure Skyrim will be mentioned (not *really* an RPG but a thumpingly good game).

There really aren't many good western fantasy RPGs to be honest. Dragon Age 1 is probably the best one recently, and that is saying something.

Otherwise:
- Neverwinter Nights 2 was decent and definitely worth playing. It's expansion pack (Mask of the Betrayer) is phenomenal.
- Divinity: Original Sin is fantastic if you were ever a fan of Baldur's Gate and the like.
- Fable 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur are both pretty decent if you are more into action.

If you want a lengthy western fantasy RPG, you may wish to consider Divinity: Original Sin. It is a very expansive and open game, and there is Steam Workshop support that - as long as people make good modules - could potentially make the game endlessly playable.

I would also second Autumnflame's recommendation of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, even though it is not necessarily fantasy and also not particularly recent (It was released in 2004). You play as a vampire who hides in modern human society, trying to do all sorts of vampire-y things alongside other vampires without letting the muggles know that supernatural beings actually exist. It is such an amazing RPG. But it is going to need some fiddling in order to get it to work.

That said, those two are PC-only games. As you mentioned Dragon's Dogma, does that mean that you play on a console?

Wasteland 2 just came out, Did not care for Dragon Age that much DA2 was a horrible RPG but decent action game, Might want to give the new Shadowrun RPGs a try its on steam.

Also Vanhelsing is an odd diablo clone that's worth noting.

I will second Divinity: Original Sin. I clocked 120hrs for my sole playthru, tho done of that is likely time spent fighting fights I couldn't win and trying again. It's fun, the pacing is excellent, there are some great mechanics and some nods to previous Divinity games. There are some fun characters, a great adventure to be had. It must even better with a coop partner, but even solo, it's a thoroughly enjoyable game.

So, what's the definition for a real RPG then? Does it involve true Scotsmen?

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Planescape Torment, Fallout 3 or New Vegas, Mass Effect Trilogy (if you can get past the ending), Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer. There are definitely more but these are the ones I recommend most.
