Reading one of the recent threads, someone put up a 5 minute video of Duke Nukem one-liners. In the midst of L'ingMAO and being taken back to the 7th grade, I had an odd craving for MOAR!! So I'm curious. What are some of the best and worst *fingerquotes* 'MACHO' sayings you've ever heard? Movie taglines, something your friend said. Anything is open game here!

One of my favorites is from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. While Wallace is watching the Lucas Lee movie marathon (holy crap, triple alliteration bonus!) there's a brief glance at a pile of Lee's movie posters. The tagline for the movie Action Doctor reads: "The good news is, you're going to live. The bad news is, he's going to kill you." I laughed. Hard.

The best one-liner in any game has got to be "I'm getting seriously serious" from Serious Sam of course.

For comics the answer is obvious "Surrender? You think this 'A' stands for France?!" by Captain America in The Ultimates.

Those are the first two to come to mind for me.

The Tick's battle cry - "Spooooooon!" - it just oozes testosterone and it's only one, single word!

Every time some idiot says "No Homo" I wanna smack them. Seriously? We are going to be this insecure about saying something that could possibly be construed as gay. Maybe you are trying to hard for a reason.....

EDIT: Although now that I reflect that's not much of a tag-line as it is something "Macho" people say that bugs me.

Not really a catchphrase or saying, but a memorable quote from a soldier in a video.

"You're leaving this world the same way you entered it: THROUGH YOUR MOTHER'S VAGAINA!"

Yeah, everyone was confused. And then the man was killed. Oh well.

I loved Scott Pilgrim, the line "Not only do I want to take part, I want to take him apart!" was delivered very well.

I will however save my vote for my generations ultimate B-movie star, Bruce "the Man" Campbell. "Little goody two shoes!" *BLAM* "Good....bad....I'm the guy with the gun."

That was THE best quote from a comic I have ever seen, especially since it was from Captain America.

I've always been partial to Duke Nukem saying "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all outta gum."

I love any of the "movie" posters in the Left 4 Dead games. They all have a a badass one-liner on each. My favorite is the No Mercy poster. I love the line "Curing the infection, one bullet at a time."

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."

Not macho enough for ya'? Well here's the whole thing;

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... Victory.

Someday this war's gonna end..."

- Kilgore, Robert Duvall, Apocalypse Now.

Agreed. If that line is not in the Avengers movie I expect there to be public outrage. Though, it probably won't be included because they want to be good for international audiences, bah.

That made my day.

OT:Does badasss count as macho? Then "Go ahead, make my day." Batman said it in the Justice league cartoons, where two guys are holding guns on him. He pulls back his cape and shows off his tool (for lack of a better word) and says the quote.

I feel the same way. I always feel that the "hard man" facade is a desperate attempt to cover up some huge, painful insecurity.

"Hail to the king, baby." ;)

Hahaha. It's like they want to multiple audiences to make more money. I have no idea why they would want to appeal to a various profitable markets when there is a small, less-profitable handful of fans who would enjoy a decent rib-tickling from a lesser-known prod at the French. So weird...

I have one more to add, mainly because I love the movie sooo much. Predator 2, after Danny Glover kills the predator and a good dozen or so de-cloak within feet of him. "Alright....who's next?" Mind you, the line has be used to death, but his delivery of it was perfect.

No More Heros

Travis: "People mourn differently. Some fuck at funerals. I cut off heads"

Tell me that isn't cool.

Fuck. I was gonna say that. Oh well.

Then the other King of B-style things, Army of Darkness takes the best line.

"THIS! IS! MY! BOOMSTICK!"

Worst would be Daikatana, though.
"John Romero's going to make you his *****."

Whatever.

"Leave this world like you entered it: screaming and bathed in blood."

That seems pretty "macho" to me. Or maybe just insane. But if Courage Wolf said it, then you can't go wrong.
