What is your favorite song that was made just for that movie?

My personal favorite is I Wish I Had An Angel - by Nightwish for Alone in the Dark.

The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning by Smashing Pumpkins

Yes but it was even better slowed down for The Watchmen trailer.

The Wrestler by Bruce Springsteen from the movie The Wrestler was a really good song, and was actually a great movie. Fly from the Inside by shinedown is a good song, and definitely was better than the movie Grind.

I dug the punk rock cover of Bob Dylan's Desolation Road by MCR on the Watchmen soundtrack.

So sue me. I dig Bob Dylan and I dig punk rock, and feel free to tell me it's not a punk rock song because it's being played by 'those gay MCR boys' and I'll tell you your full of it.

I think it's a bizziare cover choice, but since one of my favorate covers is a cheery sounding version of Nine Inch Nail's Head Like A Hole, I can't complain about MCR covering a Bob Dylan song.

the soundtrack to Slumdog Millionaire was, in my opinion, one of the best in years.

Purple Rain.
I quite like Take That's "Rule the World" and love the film, but the song comes a very distant second for me.

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard and it's all thanks to the new Terminator movie.

The Graduate had an original soundtrack by Simon and Garfunkle that had Mrs. Robinson and Sounds of Silence on it. Pat Garriet and Billy the Kid had a score by Bob Dylan that included Knocking on Heaven's Door. The Beatles did a few music that they did the soundtrack to.

Are we including musicales? That would probably include a lot more songs.

Agreed. From what I understand, the members of My Chemical Romance are all big comic book buffs. I read somewhere that their guitarist purchased a warehouse in New Jersey to house all his comic book collection. I liked the song, but I like the Dylan version better. I was really moved by the opening scene of Watchmen set to The Times They Are A-Changin.

Me too. As much as I loved the movie, the opening with Bob Dylan was the most powerful moment in the entire thing for me. And yeah, the original is better. It's hard to beat Dylan.

Also, if you ever get the chance I recommend you Check out the lead singer's comic (can't think of his name...) It's good in a very manic way. You can definetly tell he was inspired by Moore (although the inspiration is in the backround, there's bits that remind of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and parts that remind me of Watchmen, it's still got very much it's own style). It's called The Umbrella Academy.

I really like the song 'The Boxer' by Simon & Garfunkel, I'm pretty sure it came from the incredibly depressing film of the same name.

"Li-le-li~

BANG

Li-le-li-li-li-li-li
Li-le-li~

BANG"

etc...

I would have to say the best song to come out of a movie, at least as far as I know, is this:

Great song, from a great movie.
