So what was the best/worst game for your money that you've bought.
Like amount of content for how much you paid for it.

Also, everyone better not just say Homefront.

My best (at least recently) has to be You Dont Know Jack. I bought the last new copy from Gamestop for $20 and it was well worth it.

I bought Morrowind for AU$90 and in terms of a dollars paid to hours spent ratio, I'd still expect it to thoroughly destroy all competition in my gaming library.

Worst is probably The Darkness. Paid $40 for it and I've managed to get an hour into it twice and had to quit. The controls are so unresponsive it pisses me off.

Best: Probably Railroad Tycoon 2 Platinum. Spent ~50 hours on it, got it for twenty cents.

Worst: Probably Portal. I've spent about ten hours on it, and dropped $20 on it. Not really a good idea.

The best value would have to go to Oblivion GOTY Deluxe Edition for $13 on Steam during last year's Christmas/New Year's sale.

Honorable mentions to Red Faction: Guerilla for $20 (this was cheap for when I bought it) or The Orange Box (100 hours of great gameplay for $30).

I have a couple. One, Oblivion on the PC. The modding community and the console made it a game with unlimited roleplaying options. Two, Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout 3 was probably better but the revamped Repair skill was awesome. I can't help but feel awesome and self-sufficient when I run across a wasteland, taping, gluing and jury-rigging my guns. Three, GTA IV. The PC version was epic. The trainer plus Independence FM. Last one, Fable 2. Yeah, I know what you're going to say but I really couldn't stop finding stuff to do in that game. Max out your 1337 sk1llz, commit bigamy, open doors, shag with 20 people at the same time, plus, A nice, simple combat system that was way to easy, but still fun and satisfying. I also like Mercenaries 2, mostly because you can just say 'screw you, objectives!' and ride around Venezuela in a jeep with your PLAV homies. Not to mention Deus Ex Human Revolution. Brilliant, but strangely reminds me of Half-Life 2. The list goes on: Just Cause 2, Fallout 3, MGS Peace Walker, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood...

Worst value was probably... Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. It had a good concept but it was way too hyped. The cinematic trailer (the one with silenced SMGs and the helicopters landing and rapid fire and stuff) made it look like a fast-paced, intense military simulator where you needed to take advantage of every asset and think quickly to survive and win. The end product was a sluggish, heavy handed FPS with a high bullet damage matrix. Also, Gran Turismo 5. Ugh.

I'll qualify best value for money as a purchase that inspires whatever the exact opposite of buyer's remorse is.

So among the best I've found has been:
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Super Meat Boy
Bastion
Mario Kart Wii
Fallout 3
Minecraft
Super Mario RPG

I tend to just forget about the games I regret buying, and frankly I'd rather not try too hard to remember my regrets.
I didn't like Monster Hunter Tri at all, so I returned it about 3 days after purchase. Not great value for money.

Best would have to be Morrowind with Sins of a solar empire a close second for sheer play time and very cheap prices.
I generally dont buy a game without solid research but Dungeon siege 3 was a lapse in my normal policy, as a result it is my worst for a 60 AUD price tag on a very short experience

>Buy Oblivion GOTY for 20$.
>Play it for over 1000 hours (I'm a bit of a completionist).
That is, like fifty hours for dollar spent or something.

The worst would be Far Cry 2 when it came out. It looked really cool and it kind of was. Except that the controls were AWFUL. It was so sloppy that I just couldn't play the game.

Best was probably any Fallout game. Loads of Content, tons of replayability.

Worst? Every game that comes out these days. Yeah, sure..your game could have come out of Mark Twain's nose, flown through space and time, and been hand delivered to me by Master Chief.

Exactly why do I have to pay 60 bucks for a game with the same amount of content that a Gamecube game had? Oh, better graphics? Better tech? Yeah, you'd still make boatloads if you charged 30 bucks for new games, idiots.

I would have to say Team fortress 2, spent $0.00 on it and have played it for 95 hours. Endless replayability.

Don't really know about the best, but the worst was Terminator Dawn of Fate.

It's a terrible fucking game. The camera is an obstinate whore, the controls are wild and unfettered and have only a tenuous desire for you to "kill enemies" or "not die". It looks like shit, too, by the way.

Terrible fucking game. Worst one I ever actually bought. Though I'm not naive enough to think it's the worst ever made, but still...

I regret purchasing MW2, I haven't touched in over a year either.

Best valued? Star Wars: "Best Of" Collection (or something) containing KotOR1, Jedi Outcast, Empire at War, Republic Commando, a Galaxies trial, and Battlefront.

So worth it.

Best is without a doubt, Oblivion , Game of the year edition , with both expansions , for xbox 360 , cost me 30$ . played for around 300 hours. Which is 30 cents per hour.

Other than that pokemon pearl/diamond. i bought both for 40$ each for a grand total of 80$ , racked up a whooping 1000 hours combined . Which is about 8 cents a hour.

Worst would be , Metroid other M , bought it for 59$ new . Played it for 2 hours , which is about 28$ per hour . Yeah , waste of money

Best: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Pripyat. 10 bucks on sale, replaybility and modding community? too many hours and adventures to count.

Worst: Medal of Honor, the new one, I bought it for 60$ played for 5 min's in the campaign, 5 min's in the multiplayer.....wait, doesn't this feel like Bad Company 2...no...wait...this is even worse. O_O what. have. I. done. with. my. 60$.

Traded it in, bought another S.T.A.L.K.E.R game. And I still had money to spare as Clear sky, although was buggy in the beginning, once you get past it with a simple mod/patch I have never had that much fun in a sequel.
