Must admit i found fallout to be reasonably stable , except for the random after 2 hours crashing, but most the time it chose to do that in the middle of waste land.
Though i did find patches they released made it far more stable havent had any issues since. Guess you could say im in ignorant bliss :p

Sounds just like my FO3 experience, I'd always feel a little less crash-tense indoors. Usually play for 1.5 - 2 hours before crash.I found the crash more frequent if I turn graphic settings higher (which my system can handle) so it look a bit less for less crash.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion both don't have any sound when I talk to people. As soon as you exit chat, the sound works normally. Also, I can't hear recordings on Fallout.

Both also crash a LOT.

Still love them both, though.

I absolutely HATE Bethesda engine, especially Fallouts and Oblivions. The characters seem so stiff, and all of them look the same. Since everything is all in a complete connected world, characters that aren't supposed to die, do die, things that are supposed to be in one place are in another. I HATE BETHESDA's ENGINE!!!!! Sweet god, I hope Elder Scrolls 5 is:

A. LESS BUG RIDDEN

and

B. A DIFFERENT ENGINE. I think it would be insaintly cool if TES 5 was on the unreal engine or something.
Are they still using NetImerse 5 or whatever?

Though I disagree with every one of your points (other than voice acting) you are still entitled to your opinion, they get GOTY because so many people love the games, with a very small number of people who hate it
He is right about the writing, Especially in comparison to the previous games in the series (and I'm including Tactics in this), 3 has the weakest and most nonsensical writing.

I totally agree although I never played tactics. I thought tactics was just a sqaud based fallout combat game, devoid of storyline. Oh, well, my loss.

Morrowind has never been a problem, but surely morrowind cant be using the same engine as Fallout 3 or Oblivion?
Sure it is. Randomly, my Morrowwind which I'm playing will decide to crash when I open the map. It gets really old, honestly, but it's a fun game otherwise.

AN unmodded Oblivion will almost ALWAYS crash.
WRONGO! Recently got Oblivion + All DLC on Steam, haven't gotten any mods yet, and guess what? 0 CRASHES! Now, please take that back.
Yes, but when you get the game with the DLC you will also have the latest official patch installed on the game. Also Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine also hinder some crashes.
Play on for a while, it'll start crashing.

P.s the DLC are still mods (but the official ones).

That's pretty much exactly what it is (though it does obviously have a storyline), and yet the writing is still far better than Fallout 3's.

There are always the graphical upgrade packs and sourceports. MGE includes HDR and LOD into the engine among other things.

I Didn't have any problems with FO3 and Oblivion with the exceptions of some of my 143 mods. And that's only the oblivion mods. Lucky me i guess..

Hmm, I'd say it's because the majority of people find Bethesdas games incredibly fun, and they have long life, and plenty to do.

Where's Infinity ward have released a game identical to the last, with a tiny campaign, and no dedicated servers... hate to follow the trend of having a go at them, but you just suggested that they might be better than Beth. Not a chance. it's not all about voice acting.

Their games have been insanely unstable for me, so I can sign up for the love-hate feeling towards them.

Games in question are: Morrowind, Oblivion & Fallout 3 (this one most of all unfortunately). Rarely have much trouble with other games.

Well if your having a problem with the Bethesda games being unstable on the computer, maybe you could try it on a console. I've put of 100 hours into oblivion with it only frezeing once and about 60 hours into Fallout 3 without it frezing (both on PS3).*Runs away before getting attackted by PC Gamers*.
