Today GameInformer revealed the cover story for their August issue, which featured a brand new game called Dishonored. Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, Dishonored boasts leading industry talent like The Elder Scrolls? Todd Howard, Deus Ex?s Harvey Smith, and Viktor Antonov, the man who designed Half-Life 2′s City 17.

The game is being described as a ?first-person stealth/action adventure? that will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime in 2012.

GI writer Adam Biessener put it this way:

?Dishonored is the antithesis of a edge-of-your-seat roller-coaster ride. It?s a game about assassination where you don?t have to kill anyone. It?s a game about infiltration where you can set up traps and slaughter the entire garrison of an aristocrat?s mansion rather than sneak in. It?s a game about brutal violence where you can slip in and out of a fortified barracks with nobody ever knowing you were there. It?s a game about morality and player choice where the world you create is based on your actions, not navigating conversation trees.?

So what are your thoughts

A new IP? Well, that's good news - there haven't been many of those lately. The concept sounds interesting too. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

That's one big paragraph for "At the moment, we're getting a shotgun and setting it for wide spread". Although the developers seem interesting in the world creation side of things.

Sounds pretty much exactly like Deus Ex. Not that there's anything wrong with that but everything we've heard about this game is extremely vague. New IPs are always nice though, if it's a good game I'll support it.

Sounds cool. Although I hope they still have an "all guns blazing" option for those times where sneaky sneaky tactician just isn't going to do it for you.

So it's the Deus Ex story of Deus Ex where Deus Ex?
Well, they are making everyone well aware that they have some random guy that worked on Deus Ex on the development team.
