Bethesda's E3 presentation just wrapped up and left me incredibly excited. Fallout 4 in particular had a ton of game changing new features and mechanics premiered that even the wildest speculation did not predict. What did the rest of you here at the escapist think of their presentation?

I loved it. Sure, the meat of it was the opening with Doom and closing with Fallout 4, but I have 4 games which are now on my list because of that presentation (though in all fairness, Fallout 4 was already on it before it began). I'll likely be buying Doom, Dishonoured 2 and Fallout 4 all on day one. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a shelter to download.

am I the only one who felt meh about it. Don't get me wrong it's not Nintendo 2008 or xbone reveal bad just okay.

Doom look a little bit to scripted it kind of makes me be suspicious

Dishonored 2 was just a CGI trailer

there is that game I don't care about or even heard of until this point

Bethesda's hearthstone ripoff almost made me facepalm

Fallout 4...... yeah that was amazing but I feel like it would've been more amazing if we didn't know about it at that point.

I just don't see how it was the best thing ever

Fallout 4 will be Game of the Year as long as it is playable and is at least 30 hours long. You heard me, I am calling it now. Not that the Witcher 3 won't be in contention, but it is going to lose.

However, as for Bethesda's entire presentation. A whole lotta meh.

Bethesda.Net? Is that supposed to be a UPlay/Origin clone? Did we ask for one of those?

Bethesda is chasing after TF2 with some Squad based FPS that I can not for the life of me remember the name of. Why is every character with a bow now named a ranger? Do we blame LOTR for this? Seriously.... come up with some new names. Shessh.

Bethesda is also apparently chasing after Blizzard as well. What's next? Gonna give us a TES: MOBA? "Elder Scrolls: Ruins of the Dwemer". Card games are lazy cash grabs. It bothers me to seem them go that route.

Dishonored 2? Well, I have no comment here. Never cared for the first one, though I am aware I am part of a very small minority.

Doom looked cool, but.... I got bored watching it. Talk about repetitive game-play. Seriously, that thing was old about 3 minutes in. Not to mention incredibly scripted.

But yah, Fallout 4 Pip-Boy edition here I come!!!

The Fallout 4 stuff was great, Doom looked pretty cool, more Dishonored is good too.

Meh to Battlecry, bleh to the mobile stuff, if they had not said ahead of time that the card game was an Elder Scrolls thing, I would never have guessed. It looked like every other online card game that pops up. Bethesda.net stuff makes me nervous from a modding perspective.

Back to the positive stuff. The FO4 base building stuff looked great as did the weapon customization, its like all the best parts of Crafting survival games without the player killing dickheads of something like DayZ on top of the Bethesda style open world. Doom really peaked my interest as something that felt really fresh among the sprint, ADS, killstreaks that have dominated the shooter market for a while now. Everything old is new again I guess.

Looked neat. I haven't got much interest in Doom, much less Battlecry and the Elder Scrolls card game. But I've been waiting for Dishonored 2 for ages. Nice to see it finally be officially announced. Now I just need some reassurance that the story won't be total shit.

As for Fallout 4 - It has my attention, I guess. I've always preferred Elder Scrolls to Fallout, and always preferred New Vegas to 3, so I'm still a bit meh. But it does look like it will be some great fun, and I'll probably enjoy it anyway. Maybe it will win me over.

Interested in the set background thing. Not put off by it, really. I know a lot of people love it, but I've always felt that the vague and loose backgrounds in Bethesda games are cheap and lazy. I like the system they have in place, of how you're half of a married couple with a life and a story, but I can see it causing issues for others who like more control over their story, especially those who wanted to be flat-out gay since being married means you're either straight or bisexual. I don't see that going over very well with certain groups... But I like it nonetheless.

Voiced protagonist was the only thing I disliked. Not because I hate the principal, it just means that you're more restricted in what you can say. I'd take a weirdo mute if it means I have endless dialogue options for all of my role-playing needs.

Having a wife and kids didn't necessarily you weren't Gay in the old 50's/40's culture, it just meant you had a great alibi ;).
I recognize that. I'm just not sure others will...

Granted, it's pretty hard NOT to. Fallout certainly didn't white wash how sexist the 50's were, I expect they don't white wash the homophobia either.

I'm concerned about this. It might be their next attempt to control and profit from modding.

Excellent line-up. Color me impressed. Obviously all are sequels of games I already loved first time around, so more of that always sound good to me. Most looking forward to Fallout 4 though. Obviously we already knew it was coming, but I'm still surprised by the release date. Year after year Bethesda must have kept this under wraps. It's cool though, rather this than a deflated hype balloon. If you announce a game, release it between now and 6 months or so don't make us wait years and years for it*cough MGS5 cough*.

It was...fine. Got me excited for Fallout 4 (dat Pip-Boy edition tho :O ) and Dishonored 2. Doom I was already bored of before the the second trailer finished (although that SnapMap idea looks neat). I actually headdesked when I saw that Elder Scrolls card game. Battlecry, ESO and Bethesda.net were just kinda there.

Stayed up all night and all through early morning to watch that. My Avatar speaks for me on this point.

Doom and Dishonoured looked alright, never played either games previous titles but I might pick up both later on.

Fallout 4 and all other Fallout stuff was great. My only gripe with 4 is the UI in conversations and how the gunplay reminds me of Rage, but I'm sure I'll get used to them.

That crafting system looks really cool. I wonder if the little settlement we make can be associated with a certain faction like BoS or the Institute. I would pay a lot of caps to see Paladins patrolling the perimeter of my defences. I'm hoping in regards to the Power Armour crafting we can add a lick of paint to it just to distinguish how it looks from everyone else's.

The Animation and Reaction time when the player gave the Dog, or as he seems to be called "Dog", looked a bit delayed but they still have another 5 months to work on that. I really liked how he has the item in his mouth when he brings it to you, though I have to wonder if that means he can only fetch things o a certain weight and size. It would be pretty funny to see him drag a Mini-Gun along the ground towards you. XD

The voiced character is something I'm still not sure about, the guy they where using sounded kinda bland but they did only show a lines of dialogue so who knows what will happen. I really liked how they said if you choose a popular name as you player characters name people in the game will actually call you that.

So Hyped!

DooM looks fun, and certainly way better than 3, but those gore effects were horrishitibad and it appears to still be suffering from an identity crisis, unable to fully commit to being a horror game or a fast paced arena shooter.

Dishonored 2 is promising, really only need be more of the same with some improvements and I'm in. And maybe this time don't give the player tons of cool ways to assassinate people then call them a asshole for daring to not do the non-lethal run.

Fallout 4 is just... mah gawd. So hype, so very, very hype. Hell with a voice protagonist and actual dialogue I might actually give the tiniest fraction of a shit about the story in a Fallout game for the first time in, ya know, ever.

Overall very good showing, the bar has been set very high right out the gate this year it seems.
