I tried the trial version once after going through a bunch of fairly bland free mmorpg's. And it was even more boring.

You run around doing quests with no real purpose. Go kill 10 such and such, now go kill 20 such and such.

Personally, it could be bearable if it wasn't $15 per month. I could play a cel-shaded free version of this and be better off.

I do have some suggestions, however.

Mabinogi: Anime Graphics can be kind of annoying, and you might want to spend around $10 on it for a mount, but the freedom of making your character any way you want without a class system, and the completely unique combat system makes it worth it.

Vindictus: Aside from the fact that this one and mabinogi are from the same company, this one is much different. Gender locked classes, but the action packed, fast paced combat is extremely wonderful.

Guild Wars 1 or 2: Guild Wars 1 is a nice variant off of your standard WoW clone, with more of a skill base than levels, and the story is really well done.

Guild Wars 2 i don't know that much about, but the traditional roles are apparently no longer around.(Healer, tank, etc.)

^Both Guild Wars games are a one time payment of just the game, then it's free.

I would suggest not getting into World of Warcraft, there are plenty of good mmorpg's out there for a lot less.
