It's 10 bucks on steam, I recommend.
It was just a fun game, I don't know what made it good or bad. The music was amazing, that really helped (Propaganda in the Akuda bar really stands out). Combat is fun, level design is intriguing there is lots to explore and collect. It's certainly a PG rated game, but it's quite fun and the story contains adult themes like societal collapse, social revolutions, military suppression, police states and propaganda. While kids wouldn't find much in these themes since they wouldn't understand them, adults really get another layer out of the game for this reason.
It's also named after Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche, one of his key works in which he develops his notions of the Übermensch and going beyond good and evil. Rather, going beyond societal pressures of morality to form our own morality. Transcending humanity. It's a good piece. If you're interested in reading it I much prefer the Kaufmann translation:
