BFBC2: Poorly Ported to PC

My friend has it on PC, I have it on 360, I play it on MY pc from time to time, works fine.
But I haven't touched it in awhile on PC, every other server has a hacker. It's why I stopped playing PC shooters.

Meh. PC games often require a few months past release date before they get polished up. Probably because the companies need their game on retail at certain dates to help with the cash flow. Not really a surprise. Even less of a surprise knowing that DICE was using a console engine for this.

Sure, I don't play MW2 these days, and BC2 is taking most of my free time but that doesn't excuse EA for having such god forsaken servers that cannot do something as 'simple' as refreshing your server browser.

It works, if you can bother with simple work arounds, and tweaks to boost the performance.

Oh and, it's an average port, compared to the quality of MW2.

It runs fine on my PC... considering my aging gfx card (ATI Radeon 4650). I just turned down the resolution a little and it works fine.

Well right now the EA server thing is a bit buggy and pisses me off but I have a feeling that will be fixed soon enough. And when it is fixed MW2 will still be left with the console matchmaking bullshit while I am able to hop on my favorite server with buddies on BC2 and have a good game free of hackers and asshats.

that's a bit below min spec i believe.
hell, i think with logic its impossible, you must be mistaken maybe on purpose..

the game is running an advanced engine with lots of physics and stuff, its hard to optimize for wide variety of PC's
i cut them slack here, and will expect greatness from BF3.
in a couple years.

and +8 players, server browsers, better graphics including unlimited potential framerate make this not a port

Mine runs at about a constant 30 fps with a Intel Duo P8600, 2.4ghz dual core processor. I am playing on medium settings at 1680x1050 on a notebook hooked up to a monitor. My graphics card is a GeForce GT 120M. By no means is this the best computer, yet I seem to be running it better than people with their so-called all powerful machines.

Considering the game works for most people, I think the minority that includes the OP should stop whining and realize that the Problem Exists Between the Keyboard And Chair.

A lot of people with dual cores are complaining of poor performance in BFBC2. Me included. Running an E6600 at 2.8ghz. More than adequate... unless the game is a bad port and only uses a small fraction of most people's available GPU power.

Some people are reporting, through the use of an EVGA Precision tool for overclocking, that their GPU is being utilized to about 1/3rd full capacity or less. If you search the web there are tests and screen shots out there.

The reason for this is that the xbox uses a triple core processor at 3.2ghz, but only has like 256mb of video ram and a weak GPU.

That's the first thing I thought when I started checking my performance issues, that this game wasn't nearly pretty enough to require such high end hardware... and it turns out it isn't. It's just made like shit.

well as the game is directx11 ready, and has been stated by the company time and time again that it was built for the PC from the ground up, I would say it isn't a bad console port because it isn't a console port /thread

I think alot of you missed the op's point.

game is optimised for xbox not PC. meaning depends on CPU more than it should and GPU less than it should.

so posting "I RUNS IT FINE WITH MY QUAD CORE"

makes you look like a retard and now I how you understand why.

ANYWAY...

I ordered this game other day. I have a 2 year old PC. I doubt I will get good fps in this game but I should... I mean I can run crysis in max settings at 30 fps. and the graphics don't look more advanced than other games I run fine, apart from the total destruction thing. so maybe its the destruction which is killing the performance and needs a quad.
