is anyone else annoyed by the BFF add, i get the feeling they've missed their target market somehow
i'm sure there are more females on the escapist one may think at first but still...
not to mention the sheer monotony of watch THE SAME ADD EVERY SINGLE TIME

Yeah, I've been meaning to start a thread like this. I understand that 50% of gamers are female, so the demographic is kinda there, but I don't know anyone who would want to be told what's "hip" by two bimbos anyway. Not to mention that the ad goes for WAY TOO LONG.

But seriously, can't they find more relevant ads? I mean there are plenty of game trailers they could be showing in the lead up to Christmas. AC: Revelations, BF3, MW3, Saints Row: The Third, Skyrim just to name a few.

Exactly. I completely understand the need for marketing dollars, by why the Escapist doesent strike up deals for advertising with actual game companies completely baffles me.

That BFF Access thing is the most insultingly pandering crap I've seen in a commercial in a while. Get out of my computer you pair of stupid moles!

Because they can't. They don't get companies to advertise, they wait until one of them offers, and being so low on cash right now, I'm sure they're taking whatever they can get.

In one of the podcasts they talked about how ad space on this site really isn't hot shit, so they don't have much choice.

It is certainly odd that an entire series of adds aimed at fashion conscious teenage girls is being used on a site for gamers: A market which is likely a good part male >50%, not necessarily fashion consious, and hopefully, full of people not stupid enough to listen to an add that says pointless stupid things to advertise "Clean and Clear". I see what they did they did there.

I'm more suprised that anyone would want to run that add on a gaming site.

The girls are cute, they talk about boring things so I just mute and enjoy.

If it's keeping the Escapist afloat, I really don't mind watching some ads. Especially if they have cute girls.
