First off, I really would like to see any other religion make a show like this. We could have Taoist Man, who doesn't fight the bad guy, but rather respects the bad guy's place as an important part of the universe. Zoroastrian Man, who not only faces the trickster Djinn and obvious parallels between himself and every modern religion, but also wonders why a 24 year old American would reference an ancient Persian religion. Finally, there's Koran Man, who put's on his Armor and is quickly arrested as a terrorism suspect.(Yes, this is a subject which calls for absurdity.)

Secondly, it seems like a lot of people are confusing atheism with nihilism.

Atheism- Lack of belief in one or more gods.

Nihilism- Lack of belief in anything.

In terms of the show being unethical so what? If pious christian parents want to give their children "wholesome" christian role-models, that's fine. That's the purpose of the show, I'd imagine. On the other hand, it kind of erodes the merit of the Christian religion, reinforcing stereotypes and creating discussion like what's seen in this thread. (which I've seen links to in at least 3 "(user was put on probation for...)" marks.)

personally i think its proves that christians are bat shit crazy
Kinda like how some non-christians are just as crazy, right? Total generalizations FTL.
theres a big difference between religious crazy and normal crazy,

you dont think that a power rangers style christian superhero with boots of truth is a bit messed up?

the little kids dancing is quite funny though
The reason those armor parts have funny names is because it's quoted from Psalms.
They call it the "Armor of God", and those armor piece names are as they are in the Bible.
They didn't say "Oh, look at what Christians believe, let's name the armor parts like that."
No, those armor names are directly quoted from the Bible on how to be a better person.

Wasn't that the guy who used to play the idiot friend on Charles in Charge?

What is it with 80's sitcom stars and bad Christian-themed TV?

Yeah, but a lot of the atheists I know pursue and endorse their "lack of religion" with the same determination as a zealot, in a crusader spirit that would make the catholic church look tame. They are not a religion, but they might as well be.

No, it is worshiping the incarnation of destruction that is Athe. Athe-Theism.

I don't understand why they intended it for kids, it's not like Vegetales where it's kind of entertaining. In this show, they do nothing but spew scripture every chance they get, even during a lightsaber fight. What's the point of having a superhero spreading the gospel? Couldn't he just do that as himself and not a moron wearing purple tights and a recycled helmet from the movie Steel?

JUST GETTING THIS CLEAR.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion
It says nothing about "believing" really, and doesn't mention that atheism falls under religion.

"In Western culture, atheists are frequently assumed to be irreligious or unspiritual."
(if we ignore other forms of Buddhism that are regarded as atheistic)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism

Although there is this:
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45874
But it sounds stupid to me... he wanted to create a group "religious in nature"?
How is that related to atheism?

After going to Church for most of my life and having the Bible preached at me from every angle with every gimmick, things like this make me want to lock myself in my room with a bottle of vodka and two packs of ciggarettes.

Even `away in an manger` makes me break out in a cold sweat...You cannot imagine the horrors the HORRORS that they made me do in church when I was a kid. Those happy-clappy kids remind me of all the happy clappy things I was forced to do as a kid in church in the name of `good old fashioned pure family fun`

Things like this are truly tramatising. It is a gimmick, a gimmick, a gimmick indeed.

Reminds me of the time when I was six, I had to colour in a picture of Jesus, and being rather fond of black at the time, I coloured Jesus in black. I got into so much trouble for reasons that I did not understand until many years later...my, how times have changed.

Usually, I'd complain about the religion in question, but it's really not doing any harm here; now, all I want to say is, "Holy shit, does nobody on that show know anything about armour or design?"
Firstly, a bracer (forearm guard, IRL used only for archers) does not count as a 'shield'. Secondly, those are greaves (which go on the shins), and they are not 'shoes'. Thirdly, that is a belt, not a waistband. A waistband is the elastic that holds your boxers up. Fourthly, what kind of a piece of shit helmet is that??? It looks like a metal potty. All in all, it just looks incredibly gay.

Also... how can a 'shoe' be peaceful?

Atheism is as much a religion as bald is a hair colour
That's my opinion on the matter anyway.

As for Bibleman, sorry, I watched the first one and just...too corny. The ending? Urgh. That's just terrible. Seriously.
I think it'd be a more proper analogy to say Atheism is as much a religion as bald is a hair STYLE.
The person has no hair (no belief), but I think it would still make sense to classify "bald" as a hairstyle.
Not at all. You seem to be missing the point.

This is terrible... But I did want to see Bibleman in action, beating evildoers and foul heathens such as myself.
