Seriously, though, I think it's a unique idea and if done right it can deliver. I also am afraid that the gimmick would wear off quicker than you'd think.

How is it gimmick? Its an fps, you can't see the rest of your character, so you might as well be Jack for all the difference it makes.

Actually, you can see the rest of your body, including your face in the mirror. They stated it in the GameInformer article.

You just see your face once in a puddle, hardly seems like a gimmick to me.

I'm hoping that its more for the storyline that you are a big daddy. Like its been said already you are the prototype. I'll guess that you'll find out about the prototypes past (as a human), the development process & the like. Personally I'm well psyched over this game.

I don't know raising a kid and being Adam Sandler would lose it's appeal after a while... Oh,Oh,That Big Daddy. I think it would be fun but it seems a bit like a cheap gimmick. Besides I'm still waiting for the BioShock RTS where Andrew Ryan and Fontaine go Head to Head to control Rapture(in a prequel obviously).

Does anyone think that playing as a Bid Daddy is a good idea?

It will certainly be different. But I think unless they balance it well, having the drill, the ability to dual-wield plasmids and weapons and being bigger than everybody will just remove the challenge. Also, water is no longer a problem, so...it could be good, it just has to be done right.

As fun as decimating people as a big daddy might be, it will surely get boring.

Lucky we have the big sister, eh?

I think it'll be a bit different from the sequel because you ARE a big daddy. the enemies are afraid of you.

I enjoyed the bit at the end of the original when you had to collect all the bits and pieces to feign a big daddy, It felt quite cool as you saw the transformation taking place. Sadly, you didn't get a drill or a rivet gun, and you could only dress as the ranged one, so no dome heading either.

Your not a real Big Daddy in Bioshock 2 but rather a prototype of them. But the multiplayer is diffrent. It acts like Call of duty. Certain amount of kills equals a diffrent power up.

It's a great idea in my opinion. This will mean you get to see Rapture after Jack left. Meaning you get to see how his just being there influenced everybody in Rapture. Also I heard the splicers are in a debate in this game deciding which of the endings in the first game actually happened or something like that.

Prequel would have been better.

...It is a prequel.

It's a sequel. It's set 10 years after Bioshock, and it assumes you harvested all little sisters (or all of them but one or two... anyway, the "bad" ending)

I think it will be cool, if they do it right, and it doesn't turn into the level near the end of Bioshock where you "become" and Big Daddy, minus all the super cool big daddy powers, and have to escort a Little Sister, could they have at least have given me the drill or rivet gun?!?!

I was confident they would do a good job with the sequel but now I'm worried as I think, maybe incorrectly, I heard that Ken Levine wasn't directly attached to the project.

Hopefully, it will still be a good game.

Sounds good, looks good, can mess up the story and get old, messing up the whole game.
