Hey guys. Just a fun little thread that I'm sure has been done lots of times before me. I'm curious: all you musicians out there, what instrument do you play? How long have you been playing? What style do you play? Do you play for a living? Etc etc etc.
I myself having been playing piano for about 11 years, and am currently into playing jazz.

I play guitar. Been playing for about 4 - 5 years. Mostly play metal, but I'll play anything as long as I enjoy it. I can also play bass and drums, just very poorly.

I played the drums for five years or so. Never played in a band or anything; I was on the verge, but then studying got in the way...
Kinda regret dropping it completely now, to be honest.

Cello is my main instrument. Very fun to play and all that, even to practice.

That and piano, although I'm only passable at playing the piano.

Classical on both. The closest I've ever gotten to jazz was playing 'Linus and Lucy' by Vince Guaraldi.

I've been playing the piano for 5-6 years.
I play all sorts on that.

I can also play bass and drums.
Never taken lessons, just stuff I've learned by sound.

They're the main instruments anyway.

I totally want to play acoustic guitar but once again my plans are ruined by my arch nemesis - the laziness.

Electric guitar, I started about 5 months ago and I've gotten really good really soon- honestly, to all of you that think it's hard work, it's much more fun than it is hard. Other than that, the piano, but only very rudimentarily. Guitar is my main instrument, and I'm looking out to make a band and start to rock to the heavens. I play anything, from metal to blues, and I simply enjoy having the instrument in my hands.

I've been known to play in a few jazz bands. I remember my days playing double bass in one.

Good times...

I play many things, including guitar, bass, double bass, a small amount of violin, mandolin, ukelele, banjo (sort of), piano (obviously), drums, and the wonderful theremin. I can sort of play the Sitar.

I also DJ now and then, and like to remix songs.

I'm currently playing guitar in a live dance band, which means a lot of keyboard work, and a lot of effects pedals. Great fun.

I think I just became smitten with your musicality, Crouton...

Which is your favorite instrument, if you have a favorite?

Drums, 5 years, primary instrument. Can't get enough of 'em.
Trumpet, 6 years, stopped about a year ago but can still play when needed.
Guitar (six-string/bass), 2 years, not very good at it yet but can hold my own on the bass.
Piano, stopped lessons like 10 years ago but still know how to play it.

Definitely the mandolin. It has an absolutely beautiful sound.
