well 2010 has come and gone, so what in your opinion was the bigest dissapoint ment of the year just gone? it can be an actual game, a game youre looking forward to being pushed back or even the game being scrapped altogether
Im stuck between two games.....
Socom 4 because it wont be released till later this year when it was supposed to be released in november...
and obviously CoD the biggest and most overated game of the year, I might have just thrown £50 quid into my fire

Medal of Honor.

I've already been into why I despise this game and everything about it, so we'll just leave it at that.

IMO, 2010 pretty much was a huge disapointment game wise... I bought 3 games last year >_>.

I already have twice more than that on my purchase list this year :)

I'm disappointed that CityVille got so popular. I'm very disappointed.

Yawn. You should know what you're getting from a CoD game by now.

QFT

CoD has been awful since MW1. I'm lucky, I got Blops as a Christmas Present and sold it after a week. Got £35 too.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Mine would be New Vegas.

I'd say Conviction. While it by no means was a BAD game, it wasn't really a Splinter cell game. I miss the old styles. I still had fun with it, just not the fun I wanted.
I'd say it was a bad game.
"HOLY CRAP LOOK THAT'S SAM FISHER! You know, the guy who could kill you with a marshmallow and a toothpick! Let's hurl random abuse at him so he knows we mean business! OH LOOK! I saw part of his head sticking out over there! Let's all empty all of our ammo into that spot where i think i saw him!"

I'd been hoping for him to be on the run and killing people in city streets and things rather than that linear pile of shit. They took the great SC franchise, covered it in shit, and then delivered it for 30 quid with a bunch of over priced DLC. Nice going Ubisoft. They didn't even bother to tie up the loose ends from the previous game, or fix the gigantic plot holes of SC:DA 3rd gen and 4th gen.

Oh, yea, the topic, erm, SC:Conviction, huge disappointment.

I didn't play it until a few days ago but I'm going to go with Singularity. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I was looking for and, not what I expected.

The Force Unleashed... so much potential, so much fun and then they came with QTEs and apparently a completely different game for the Wii than the PS3.

I could swear I've replied to this exact thread before...

Anyway, Starcraft II. I had high hopes, those hopes were dashed in the name of "league gaming".

My biggest disapointment of '10 was a DS space-JRPG called Infinite Space. If you've never heard of it, don't bother finding out what it is because it was terrible.

Second is FF13, I was expecting a JRPG, I got an automated combat sim and a pretty graphics engine, bah.

Honestly, I can't think of a single disappointment in 2010. I had pretty low expectations which were, for the most part, met and rarely exceeded.

Red Dead Redemption for me, because I was a fan of Red Dead Revolver. I was scared when I heard Rockstar was working on it, because I absolutely hated GTA 4 on all levels. Then the reviews came out, people raved about how much of an achievement it was in gaming, and other pretentious claims.

This is my problem with RDR and GTA 4: I hate doing linear stuff in an open-world game. With the limits on the mission design, and no way to experiment with a situation, the missions feel like I'm playing a different game compared to this sandbox world I'm in.

I haven't finished the game, 27 hours into it
(killed Williamson and took Javier Escuela to the officers)
, but I know it won't get any better gameplay-wise. It was repetitive. None of the gameplay ever evolves. The missions had too much hand-holding which led you to the story that was a chore with the goose-chase between quest givers. It has all the same issues of GTA 4 of bad pacing, annoying characters (getting more missions than the good characters like Bonnie), protagonist being an errand boy that doesn't match with his character, and it's predictable.
