Ok, the year is coming to a close, and many great games have come out, but I bet there are many of you out there who are disappointed with how some turned out.

So tell us, what were your biggest disappointments of '10 in gaming...

(and no one says Alpha Protocol because it was awesome DX)
(or Shattered Memories)

No patches or DLC for PC War For Cybertron.

...I really didn't start gaming until the back half of the year, during which I was unemployed so I couldn't buy much, so I don't have many complaints.

(inb4 someone says Half-Life Episode 3 not coming out)

Other than that, I cannot really think of any disappointments that I have experienced from this year's crop of games. Well, the ones that I have played, anyway.

Prototype (that was this year, right?), Dead Rising 2, Naughty Bear (could have been SO amazing), Alan Wake (DEFINITELY overrated - too much hype surrounding it, I think), Bioshock 2...I'm sure there are many more, but I tend to only remember the good games and disregard the bad from memory ASAP ;D

What about you, zombiejoe?

New Vegas. A buggy, less immersive version of Fallout 3. Perhaps it was my fault for playing its predecessor to death. Even without the bugs it was too similar to 3, with most of the 'new features' being gimmicks at best.

Bioshock 2, i loved the first but somehow bs2 felt forced and not nearly as immersive or as rewording as it could have been.

Prototype
It's actually from 2009.

OT: Cannot really think of one, but maybe Split/Second, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Alien Vs Predator. Oh and Dark Void.

Only new vegas, civilization 5 and Mass effect 2 saved this year for me, so much disappointment from all comers. Worst offenders? GT5 and epic mickey :(

Just have to disagree; Fallout:NV made up for the disappointment that was fallout3 in just about every way. The writing is simply fantastic, the world feels bigger and more alive and the added features are totally worth it. As a whole it was only held back by having way too few testers and the Gamebryo engine.

Portal 2 being delayed was a bit of a letdown. But hey, as Valve says, 'A game delay is temporary, but it'll suck forever'.

BioShock 2. Single player nowhere near as surprising or engrossing as its predecessor.

No Half Life 2: Episode 3.

I would say New Vegas but I actually enjoyed what I played of it and noticed none of the glitches that others had noticed...which was surprising.

Red Dead Redemption. God, what a disappointment. Rockstar, shame on you! JOKING! I actually loved that game a bit too much.

Final Fantasy XIII.

It was my first venture into the Final Fantasy series since X (which in all honesty, I hated.) And it's turned me into more of a Western RPG fan.

To turn me off an entire GENRE is a dissapointment indeed. Prejudice against the ones I haven't played sure. But the JRPG's have hurt me too much.

WOW. I'm not the only one to think Bioshock 2 was shit not that great. I thought maybe I didn't like it because I didn't really like the demo of the first one but its good to know I'm not crazy for not liking this game.

My choice is FFXIII. I've listed the reasons why so many times. Archive any "Why the hate on FFXIII" thread (or something similar) and you'll see my reasons. Also Fable 3. The disappointment is that it isn't as good as Fable The Lost Chapters. I'm still waiting for a proper sequel Lionhead, you know, one that isn't terribly easy, one that doesn't reduce the amount of spells, one with a proper storyline and memorable boss battles. (And how about no glitches for once? :p)

Final Fantasy XIII tops the list.
also, Super Street Fighter IV...well Street Fighter IV was terrible too, so I guess they could only improve it so much.

New Vegas. Loved Fallout 3 but New Vegas failed to make me want to bother with it after about 15 hours.
