Well Civilization 5, let me finish before hating on me! Only because the turns it take the AI towards the end is far far FAR to long, maybe it´s patched now(haven't played it for 2 months) but it was still a game breaker for me.
Civ 5 needs a tonne of RAM, Civ always has. The recomended specs are 8gb of RAM from IIRC.

Ahh only got 4, that would explain why.

Crackdown 2. It just wasn't as good as it could have been. Removing the bosses and making the biggest freaks not attack you or show up outside of the caves were bad ideas.

As many have said, Final Fantasy XIII was a let down for me. It just didn't ahve the feeling, it lacked that quintisential Final Fantasy feeling I love about each game. I don't know why, but it didn't ever immerse me like the previous games.

I'm also going to have to say Crackdown 2. I loved the first game, it was a ton of fun so when I heard the new one was coming out with more multi player options I was psyched. I don't know if they noticed during testing but I felt I was playing literally the same mission over and over again for the entire game! At least in the first one there were different soluitions to hitting your targets which made the game stay fresh a little longer. Messing around with friends is only fun for so long before I want to play some kind of mission focused co-op again.

Metro 2033. My complaint isn't really about the game as it was bu the game I wish it was. That is, completely without any mutant/monster bullshit. I think it would be far more interesting if you were only up against human enemies with human capabilities. This can also add to the suspense/horror far more that fantastical mosters, as games like Condemned prove.

This is an old complaint with me though, going back to Far Cry. One day I might get a tattoo saying "Fuck Trigens". And then, of rourse, Crytek pull the same shit again by putting aliens in Crysis. Who in that company has the hard-on for non-humans enemies? Well, at least the aliens weren't as bad... ...too bad they devote a whole level to fucking around in an anti-gravity nightmare with some infinite-respawning machines of death popping up from time-to-time.

Also, seconded on the Red Dead Redemption not coming to PC. Guess Rockstar couldn't be bothered phoning in another shitty port after GTA4.

Possibly Split/Second. I built it up to be this jaw-dropping racing game that would re-define the genre.

The first few races (pretty much the first couple times in each area) were great, when I was discovering new Level 2 Power plays and Route-Changers. Other than that it was disappointing, with some of the worst rubber-banding I've seen since Mario Kart: Double Dash.

Final Fantasy 13 disappointed me so hard.
I actually felt physical pain attempting to enjoy that game.

GT5 for one, after all that development time, it still proved to be nothing special.

And I can't believe no ones said it yet......BlACK OPS! I was an idiot to think it would be any different from MW2, and that's just the BS of multiplayer. The single player was far too over the top, and everything about multiplayer is taken right from MW2 almost. Not to mention the connection drops far far too often for a game of this, shall we say, "quality".

GT5 and Final Fantasy XIII (I would say XIV but by that stage I don't think anyone was expecting much...) if only for how long awaited they were.

I can't think of much, any game I was looking forward to was good, including FFXIII and Bioshock 2, despite people's bloated expectations. I think those games could have been perfect, and still not lived up to expectations.

I guess I disappointed Tales of Graces still hasn't, and probably won't ever, get a localization.

Splinter Cell Conviction.

*cries self to sleep*
I blamethe fact that they completly changed the game from hobo assassin's creed to a killer Sam Fisher. Remember that? It could've been worse. I am looking towards what they can do with this concept with a few more years in the cooker than they had with conviction.

OT: was ghostbuster released in 09 or 10? If it was a 09 game, then I will have to go with Bioshock 2 being the biggest disapointment of 2010.

Force Unleashed 2, how can you release a game you win after 4 hours, has repetitive mini-bosses, dumped down controllers and one of the MAIN characters in the star wars franchise just makes a brief 2 minute appearance before he disappears and have him on the back of the case as advertisement?
Only interesting about it was the twist ending depending on the end you chose but it still was a disappointment

I actually really like Conviction. I was completely pissed off after playing the demo and seeing how much the game had changed, but it grew on me in additional plays and I bought the game and really enjoyed it. I can see why you would be disappointed though. It's not what Splinter Cell has been for years.

As for myself, Red Dead Redemption. I bought it after hearing how great it was and I lost interest halfway through. Marston just gets shit on the entire game by every character and keeps going on what is essentially the same mission over and over again.

Crackdown 2 was a massive disappointments, managing to be sub-par in every way (even graphics wise!) to the original Crackdown.
And while others may not agree with this, I'm also gonna say Red Dead Redemption was a reasonable let down for me.
I didn't get it straight away, I waited to see some reviews before I purchased it.
And the reviews were freaking incredible!
I'd really liked GTA 4, so I was pretty pumped for Red Dead.
Now don't get me wrong, it was a good game. But it wasn't GOTY-worthy or anything.
Sure, the story was great and the game world looked awesome, but there were so many points where the missions just dragged, especially in the two hours leading up to the climax.
