Biggest Disappointments in life

So recently I've been thing about the biggest disappointments in my life and I've realized the biggest one for me has been college (university for all you British folk). More so than failed relationships and Skyrim.

Anyways, I ask you, what has your biggest disappointment in life been?

p.s. for the record, I just reapplied for school in the fall

My wife loved high school, but she talked to people, got into her own niche.
I hated it, mostly because I didn't.

I would say my degree. While its impressive and does raise me above someone without one, it alone doesn't do much to help me get a job. I need experience... but I need a job to get experience... but I need experience to get a job.

This world sucks.

Definitely university. I found it hard to fit in at school (hmmm... very original!) but assumed that when I went to Uni everyone would be like me. As it goes it was just more of the same, except this time you have to live with them as well.

Thankfully by the end of the 3 years I'd met some nice people, and I love my current job, which I wouldn't have been able to get without my degree.

Of course, this is only the second biggest disappointment of my life. The first was sitting at home all summer aged 11 waiting for my Hogwarts letter to arrive. It never did. God damn you Dumbledore, you could have given me a chance, right?!

Blowing my position in the stock market three years in a panic. Bought in after the october 08 crash, near March 09 lows. If i would have sat tight, I'd have made 60 grande from 6 grande.

No but more seriously, learning about economy and politics was kind of a downer.
An economy system dependent on an ever-expanding market, corruptness of politicians, uneducated voters, uneducated politicians, it all seems hopeless sometimes.

Single greatest disappointment in my life is my brother in law. We were once extremely close. Then the P.O.S. tried to sleep with my wife, destroy my family and career. Total lunatic.

OT: When I learnt that I would never be able to become a RAF pilot due to my eyesight not meeting the grade, so my biology betrayed me before I could even begin.
Annoying thing? My brother has perfect eyesight, and he never wanted to fly.

People say the same stuff about college. Sure, the first couple of years were fun, but the rest was just awful. I swear I was being yelled at by multiple people for doing everything right.

I'd say university, more for the time I've wasted than the debtssince I hardly racked up any thanks to Student Loan's bullshit policies.

Anyhoo, my uni is an absolute joke: between getting failed for essays because I'm apparently 'not clever enough to have written them' and constantly being told by lecturers that I won't get a job off the back of my degree, I can't help but feel I'd have better spent the last three years of my life turning tricks for cash.

Bad endings. They piss me off a bit more.
