The next next Sonic game. Whatever it is. UNLESS IT'S DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS 2D, HD AND BLOODY MARVELLOUS.

But even then... it'll probably be rubbish. Sadly.

I'll jump in with the obvious 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, which I think is slated for 2009. I could be wrong, and if so I'll just tuck that away for the 'Big disappointments of 2010' thread.
There are a couple of problems with calling that "most disappointing title of 2009"
1. Everyone is expecting it to be a failure, so how can it be a disspointment if it matches our expectations exactly?
Maybe it will drop below those expectations?

I have a little faith in Blizzard. They know what is takes to make a good game and I would like to think that they know what made Starcraft and Diablo great and won't do much to kill them. So I think those games will be good. The only fail that maybe associated with those is their release date. Blizzard loves to tout, "we won't release a game until it is finished". 3 years later, we get to play. I wouldn't be surprised if these 2 games don't even show up in 2009.

I agree with Indigo, Halo Wars will suck, but I think only Halo-tards will be expecting that one to be good, so I can't really call that one a disapointment.

I think RE5 will be a compete rehash of RE4, but guess what, that means it will be made of awesome. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But you can put some flashy new paint on it.

Assassin's Creed 2. I think this will be like RE5, they will rehash the first and slap on some new paint. I do have hopes/faith that they will improve what is the game's only major flaw (IMHO), the investigation missions are all the same. I don't know where this hope/faith comes from, but it is a warm and happy place made of sunshine and dreams.

I think the biggest disapointment will come from Prototype, and I hate to say that. Prototype has SO MUCH potential to be compete bad ass injected with awesome on a bed of naked hookers dipped in chocolate, but I have this lingering feeling that it is going to suck. I call it the "Too Human" effect.

I really hope I'm wrong, but Heavy Rain. It looks way to good to actually live up to my expectations.

Further disappointments/predictions for 2009:
-After finally being unveiled in November of 2009, Half-Life 2: Episode 3 will be delayed until March of 2010, and retitled "Half-Life Forever"
-Nintendo will announce "Wii Motion Super Plus" which will further improve the accuracy of the motion controls, but still won't be compatible with any games.
-Halfway through the year, Sony will finally admit that the Home "beta" is really the final build
-Microsoft finally realizes how useless Avatars are and "borrows" something else from its competitors
you know what's the worst? that it's actually pretty probable :D

Oh god no! We're running low on good untainted developers as it is...

Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 - They'll fail to live up to the hype and Blizz will turn out to be unable to do a good normal game after all those years of nothing but WoW. (I pray that I'm wrong)

alright escapist time for you to excercise your clarevoyance and give me your predictions for the worst big title game of 09

my attempt
starcraft 2 just wont live up to its predicessor
Your spelling. Oh right, a game? Well, I think that Blizzard have established them on the RTS and RPG front (Yes, I'm staring at Diablo, and pretending that World of Warcraft doesn't exist.) so no worries about Starcraft, But I'm just worried about Wii games. Lots of them try to distract you with controls
"Flail the Wiimote here! There! Everywhere!" when really if you look at the game it's a mass of minigames most of the time, and some games simply stick new paintjobs on themselves repeatedly, like the excessively large amount of "Party!" games, like Game Party, More Game Party, Sports Party, More Sports party, Funfair Party...

Immature, underaged gamers will reach an all time high and deafen the world with their squeaky voices and childish senses of humor. Still, nothing will be done to stop it. *sigh* 2009 has been, and will continue to be dismal.

Lord of the Rings: Conquest.

Anyone who has ever played Demonstone will know exactly what I am talking about. Avoid this game no matter what the damn reviewers say.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE DEMO IS AWESOME AND TELLING EVERYONE TO DO SOMETHING YOU WANT MAKES YOUR EGO MASSIVE
Capslock warrior!

I'll wager this turns into one of the big turkeys of 2009. It is way too similiar to Demonstone or one of the KUF games to succeed.
LOTR Conquest was almost identical to Star Wars Battlefront in most gameplay aspects. The only thing that kept me playing that awful demo was myself prentending I was playing battlefront.

Duke Nukem Forever will drown in a trough of fail. Or it will just remain a myth.

My girlfriend...

but seriously (not that I wasn't serious before) it has to be Spore.
I'd have to agree with you on Spore. I've still only played it once.. Did the whole "growing into a dominant species" thing, and just kinda got bored. Its a bland fucking game.

You're right, its '09.
But I think this doesn't qualify, since we already know for certain its going to be God awful.

How can something be worse than abysmal?

He's not exactly magic, he can't make a worse game than Bulletproof.
Instantly worse- Paying $64.75 for it, compared to whatever price it was before.
Even if the game its self isn't exactly as bad as Bulletproof, or the horrible PSP make, the money spent would quickly even things out.
