Probably myself, though I do well in school and have a good number of friends. I don't date much though, but that's pretty much do to personal choice.

But yeah, I game a lot, am damn good, and kick most people's butts. There's many better than me, but many more so who are worse.

In any case I think most of us would know this person, its that angry raging ****wit dota player. Yes, the one that rages at every little thing and starts crying at his team when he's losing.

(applicable to any game, but DotA seems to really provoke their presence)
Philippines ( I was born there ), is packed with those DotA people. To an extreme that they don't know what is Warcraft 3, and when they do, they think that DotA is the only map in there. May I add that most of them are poor, as the rich kids are playing a more graphic DotA clone called HoN.

I have a friend I used to game with a lot, and then he joined a video game clan. After that he began appearing offline on purpose to avoid us, and doesn't even bother to talk to any of us anymore. They are all pretty competitive gamers.

I would say the person who only plays a single god damned game that much and it's the only thing they talk about is the biggest loser. Sure, I play A LOT of games, and some times I would much prefer to be curled up in my chair than out with a bunch of douchetools, but sometimes nothing gets your spirits up more than a night out on the town.

A "friend" of mine. My boyfriend and I often hold LANs at our house, and, knowing that this "friend" enjoyed Diablo 2, we invited him to one of them. It was a lovely summer evening, so before we all got down to gaming, we started up a BBQ for him and the other 3 or 4 guests.

Our hopes that he would enjoy his evening and we ours began to go downhill when the "friend" announced he was sure hoping we'd start gaming soon, as he didn't have all evening. He then didn't speak throughout dinner, but spent it texting people on his mobile.

Once we got to the computers, things simply went downhill. Suffice to say, he accused us of cheating for using a mod (all players had previously completed the game on normal before) and then spent the game running around as far away from the main group as possible. No fun, no banter, and when he left, he didn't say thank you.

We never invited him back.

There was a guy way back in high school who had a "complete" collection of gaming consoles and games (no small feat, in a country where non-pirated copies of games cost upwards of 5,000 in the local currency). He used to brag about it to everyone and go all "Oh I *BEAT* this game *AGES* ago, it was *EASY*" and so on and so forth. Nobody really liked him, and nobody would put up with him long enough to see his supposedly amazing game collection.

This is the guy who was never invited to parties. In contrast, *I* get invited all the time. Me, the insufferable nerd who is known to go on at length about anything that might be appropos to the situation.

We'd find out that he later committed suicide in his second year of college, apparently after asking out and being rejected by twenty different girls.

Good riddance, we all say.

I know nobody in real life who is a more psychotic gamer than myself. Everyone else is either a casual or I don't know who they are. It's kinda depressing, but I am that gaming "loser" that I know. :(

Edit: Except I NEVER talk about my gaming habits in real life. Ever. So, I guess i'm not.

i know one guy, starcraft is his freaking life, has been since like 2002, he literally clocks in like 50 hours week on that game and watches youtube videos and played the beta for the 2nd one to death and the only other games he plays is Dota and HoN, which i think you get the picture, anytime any other game is talked about or especially consoles he freaks out and says how bad we are

When gaming nerds are mentioned among friends, I'm usually the actual subject.

Quite unfortunate really.

It's not even that I'm much of a gamer. I just own a shit-load of games.

Probably me, because I'm the only one in my circle of friends whose game collection doesn't consist of Madden and Halo (my frat-boy beer-commercial buddies I watch sports with) or a stack of JRPGs (my nerdier friends).

It's lonely being a city-builder and tycoon-game freak.

There's also league of legends, though I think you're right HoN is more popular.

To be honest I imagined people who act like that to be ignorant rich kids, but maybe its just that the rich kids are arseholes on different games.

(PS: Love Filipino's, very nice girls and awesome accents. =])

Myself probably. I know nobody personally who has a gaming collection near as big as mine.
Not even the Angry Videogame Nerd? :O

I dunno, I'd have quite a sizable collection if I didn't sell off the games I'm no longer able to play anymore.
I have no idea who that is, and I said people i know personally.

194k gamerscore.
God I love Rammstein.
I quite liked their mutter album myself, but not much else. Their lyrics are often hilarious if you translate them into english too...

On topic, I'd certainly be the most avid gamer of anyone I know. I play every single day almost without fail.

Probably my dad he only plays Halo and really thinks it's the best game in the entire universe... He throws tantrums like a little kid when my brothers or I kill him while playing on multiplayer.

Once I had him convinced to jump off of a ledge in the game by telling him if he pressed the right trigger button while falling a parachute would deploy and save him instead of him dying...and of course Halo has no parachutes. I made him have to start the level all over again, he was so mad at me lol.
