I was so proud when I recently got my N64 back out and worked out an effective and simple way of holding the controller.
Is there any other kind?
The first seven or eight methods I tried. It turns out I'm not a very good beginner (or even a repeat beginner) at holding one.

I'm gonna have to say prices. Paying 60 dollars for a new game that you beat that day and has really shitty multiplayer? thats just ridiculous. I think there should be some sort of "pricing chart" and a game must go through the checklist to pick a price.

For example:
No multiplayer = price - $5

somethin like that to make sure games are actually worth the money before you pay it

Sega not thinking the Saturn through properly, undermarketing it and withdrawing it from the market early; it effectively doomed one of the greatest consoles in gaming history - the Dreamcast.

If you have not read that article - please do.

I have a few selected list of mistakes

Not enough significant difference between the generations

Let's face it. The first Xbox360 games were not significantly better or better looking than the Xbox 1 games. (Don't believe me? Look at Conker for Xbox1 and compare it to the early Xbox360 games) It really bothers me that during the early release of the consoles the unit itself is extremely expensive, the game library poor and the few games that are out for said console are no better than the predecessor. If you it takes way too long time to develop games that significantly uses the hardware for what is intended for. The PS3 suffered from this far too much.
I SO agree with this!

I'm no luddite, I don't think we should still be playing our Atari 2600s with the wooden panelling.

However, take a look at Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War I and II, and see what the PS2 is capable of. I personally think we could have held on at least 5 years for the release of the 360 and Ps3, and explored the possibilities of PS2 and Xbox, and had better, cheaper 360s and PS3s when they did come out.

The PS3 is one big mistake..har har har. But really I think Blu-Ray was a pointless feature. The Ps2 had the DvD player feature when DvD's themself were starting to make a name for themselfs, so the public saw a good deal, get a DvD player to replace their VHS player and a console at the same time! Ps3 comes with Blu-ray and most people go "uh?" (Also it was launched when there was a format war betewen Blu Ray and HD DvD. Only recently Blu Ray won the war.) Maybe in a couple of years it will change.

The 360 deciding to back HD-DVD instead of Blue-Ray.
Epic Fail on Microsoft's part.

The tiny PC elitist inside me wants to say "existing". I think the N64 controllers and the weird middle handle that was jutting strangely to make 3 handles for people with 2 hands.
Just differnt ways to hold it. not to use all three at once.. :D Oh and btw im kinda tired of 360 ppl saying blu-ray doesn't matter. Yes it is clearer sounds bigger, and yes if you have even a halfway decent TV these days you can see the difference. Stop being so "halo" :D

The main reason the Ps2 had a dvd player built into it was to get the Japanese public on board with dvd's because before the Ps2 it wasn't a big thing over there. So chances are that Sony were going the same route with the Ps3.

Maybe. I still say that the Blu-Ray came to soon.

Oh so do I. I mean VHS was around 30 years before dvds came along and dvds were a vast improvement over VHS. To me Blu-Ray just doesn't have that wow factor that dvd's had coming from VHS. Sure Blu-ray is an upgrade but not much of one. In my opinion.

No mouse support for the most part. Mouse are a far superior control system than the thumb sticks.

an adapted WASD style controller with mouse support would be ideal. Especially for FPS

Nintendo dropping the Sony partnership which lead to the creation of the Playstaion. They really screwed up there.

Also to the average consumer getting bombarded with HD tv and right after Blu-ray, only adds confusion. They should have let the HD-DvD be around for awhile cause it sounded a better evolution of the regular DvD. and around 2012 release the Blu Ray.

WHile techno freaks foam at the mouth for Blu Ray, the average consumer doesnt really care for being able to see if the band that Joker puts on the dude in the bank heist is black or purple.

I completely agree, I agree so much that I can't actually add anything to that.
