I was in eb games the other day and saw battlefield 2 at a relativly cheap price. I have always wonderd what was so good about battlefield 2 so i bort it. I installed it and jumped online,i was mildly surprised that there was still survers up. After a bit of playing i decided to patch the game. After some research i discoverd that the latest patch for battlefield 2 was 1.93 GB!!.

im just wandering what is the biggest patch you have heard of or installed?

Well if you buy the original world of warcraft game CD's. You got about 13 gig coming your way before you can start playing.

And to think i thought a 500 mb patch was ball breaking. You PC gamers have it rough.

Any WoW patches... seriously Blizzard, i love your games and all, but is it really necessary to release a 4 gigabyte patch, then release another 4 gigabyte patch in the next week?

Any MMO you buy after the release date will have enormous patches to install
Final Fantasy XI, 3 hour download, even on Highspeed broadband. And this was the day after release.

I hate how game devs think its ok to ship an unfinished game then put out large day one patches.

All World of Warcraft on dial up. Took a week. Did I "win"?

Answer to any follow up questions to that, yes, I played wow on dial up. No it did not work that well. Remember that next time you complain on half a second lag on any online play. I played wow and L2 for three years. On dial up. Not counting the time it took for the blasted updates, of course.

I've had a couple of 200-300MB downloads for a single version update...most notably for Sims 3. EA makes those files frickin' yooge.
