The big problem is sports games only have 2 extremes now. It's either extremely realistic as a simulator of that sport, in which case it sacrifices elements of fun for realism, or it's extremely zany, and has very little realism at all. Those early sports games were both real and unreal enough to still be fun. New sports games suck.Thunderhorse31 said:

Good point Coolness, that would explain why I haven't owned a sports game since NBA Shootout '97. I'll play at people's houses, but dropping that kind of coin on roster updates/re-skins just doesn't make sense to me at all.

No jokes... they should just make one game for each sport for every generation of console and just handle the roster updates and game changes through patches... What a friggen scam it is to pay full retail year after year for something that should be done through content updates at this point. It's the same friggen game with absolutely zero functional changes... I mean, a sequel to something like GoW at least has a completely new set of levels and maps and some enemies even if the engine is re-used... but a sports game... how much new content do they actually include... what a scam. Now I'm actually seriously mad about this. What the hell!?!

Mirrors Edge and The Forced Unleashed because the demos convinced me that the games were good, then I played the full games and they were crap

Other than that, prince of persia. it took the series in a completely new, completely horrible direction. whats worse, the game was critically and commercially successful, so they'll never go back to the great PoP:tSoT gameplay. Theres a series that i have just seen die.

I would have to say that honor goes to either Mega-Man 9 or Gears of War. Mega-Man is too hard for my stupid 14 year old american inteligence, and Gears had a terrible multiplayer.
Even if you didn't really like that game and even if it wasn't exactly what you hoped it was, I'd say you still got your money worth with that game for the amount of content you purchased.mr mcshiznit said:
