Is there a game released this year you thought it was gonna be alright, but turned out to scratch all of your itchy spots?

It's Deception IV for me. I was looking forward to it till I remember not enjoying Trapt so much, but for $30, I thought it was worth the risk.

It was worth it. It's a game where you kill your enemies by stripping them, torture them and humiliate them to death. Stringing combos together, and the sound of sharp blades hitting armour, water wheel's infinite loop, all the satisfying sadistic stage traps... it's just so good. Story was alright, plus it's so nice to play as an evil protagonist once in a while.

Titanfall.

I thought it was going to be a decent multiplayer game that would keep me interested for a little while. Instead, it turns out to be the best multiplayer shooter I've ever played. It's a fast and furious adrenalin rush that hasn't been matched since the heyday of Unreal Torunament. I'm still playing it daily and I'm not even close to being tired of it.

All it really needs is a good singleplayer campaign, and some more customisation features in the multiplayer and it would be 10/10 amazing. Hopefully the sequel will rectify this.

Payday 2, now that they fixed the problem the game's had since release of only two or three heists out of about fifteen were worth doing. The ability to hop into any heist and know I'm not wasting my time or collected stealth bonus is just... fun, the game is fun again.
