"Shape of you" keeps a hold on #1 [And will be stuck there till summer I bet], "Bad and boujee" hold's onto #2 [Please, Leave the charts.] "That's what I like" hits #3 [Not Bruno's Best work, High hopes it gets ready to leave soon.] And "I Don't wanna live forever" goes back to #4. [ugggggh, Leave God dammit.] And then there is "love on the brain" by Rihanna on #5 [Rihanna does not have the personality or power to hold a love song like this well, High hopes Next week it drops out fast.] There's also "Tunnel Vision" by kodak black that jumped to #6 [ Alright I guess, Nothing too special as I have seen.] "Paris" by the chain smokers Holds onto #7 [ It's there best work to date, And that's kinda sad.] "Bounce Back" by Big Sean on #8 [Eh.] And "Rockabye" by Clean Bandit with Sean Pall and Anne-Marie. [Overplay kills this.] And Finally "Closer" by the Chain Smokers fet. Halsey On #10. [Fucking, Leave, The, Charts. It's been 32 weeks, Just Die.]

Special Note: The Chainsmokers were part of the 3 Groups to ever have 3 songs in the top 10 at once last week. [The Beatles Are on that list.] Why...

Over all this week was abysmal, With It all just being shallow and empty. Not only that but 2 new albums are supposed to drop next [this] week [by the same artist, mind you] that will change up the charts.

It's only getting worse...
What do you think?

Sounds like you simply don't like popular music. Find a different "top 100" billboard that caters to your tastes instead. I really can't have any sympathy that a rating service that clearly doesn't cater to your tastes upsets you when it doesn't cater to your tastes (I'm also not a fan of 90% of pop music btw.)

Pop had some great hits in 2015,But 2016 it lost many good songs and beats and just replaced it with filler. ["I hate u, I love u" is a good example of what the pop charts are currently.]
And, understandably. Pop's not for everyone, But when it's played the most, there is going to be an opinion. Whether it's good or bad is all up to taste. And right now [in my opinion at least] the charts aren't doing so well. With many songs sounding the same.

Also what type of music are you listening to? I'm curious.

All pop/rap is terrible nowadays. Doesn't help everything else get no respect.

Don't worry, Incubus and System of a Down are both dropping new albums this year.

It's not your thing. Keep enjoying what you enjoy and don't care about what some list says it's most popular.

Music is not going down the drain, there's a lot of good stuff out there, but it might require work to find. So your time and energy are better spent on that.

This reminds me of an idea for a blog I had about ten years ago. I haven't listened to the radio for a long time. So, I decided to listen to the top 20 most played songs on the radio that week and review them. I didn't write that blog. I joked that I couldn't come up with enough synonyms for the word "Suck". Honestly, the problem was the most of the songs sucked in the same way. It was music producers as artist tracks. There was no human element to the songs. The singers were just an autotune instrument. They felt soulless. I still don't listen to the radio. Yet, I do buy music on a regular basis. It just harder to find quality songs and artists.

Not that I think the current Top 10's very good, but I certainly find it an improvement over most weeks last year, and there's a handful of good stuff on the chart below the Top 10 IMO.

I'm more of the opinion that most of it is meh rather than outright bad. "Rockabye" at least is there, and "I Feel It Coming" will most definitely be back next week so that's an improvement.

Plus as most have pointed out, if you don't like it, there is plenty of stuff, even pop stuff that isn't very popular on the charts that'll be worth your time.

Those are all words and names I do not recognise, but seem familiar, and no doubt I would somehow recognise them if played aloud because it doesn't matter where you go, there'll always be some speaker connected to the main vein of the audio-teen-hormone market plying you with "what's hot" in the least musical term possible, whether you asked for it or not. That said, it's not 100% bad. Maybe like 99.34% rounded up to the nearest mental breakdown. Every now and then, something with a bit of soul and dare I say imagination squeezes through the tight restrictions of shallow publisher's trials. But you can get the same genres just better if you look deeper than the top charts, and once you do, it's a journey that never ends. ;)

If only it could happen a lot more than it does.

Speaking of which, I'll try to make next week's list go from a top 10 to 20 [or more, if I can figure out a way to make it work.

And while I could stay in more comfortable charts [R&B and Rap could be fun, And Rock could be interesting.], I kinda prefer staying the the hot 100, as it is music people actually make popular. And It's easier to make fun of popular music that's genuinely bad then some small genre that very few people listen to and making fun of said genre.
