Don't care, the bastards dead either way so I'm happy.

Besides, if he's dead that would quicken the end of the war, so your argument is invalid.
Not necessarily. In fact, in all probability it won't bring the war closer to an end by any means. Unless this some how sways the public's opinion to think that we've essentially won and should stop, and the govt. complies so as to not "hurt anyone's feelings" like it did in Somalia.

I've always wondered if bin Laden has been dead for years now. To be honest, I really don't know what to believe anymore. for whatever reason I guess he is dead for sure now, but I just have a hard time believing anyone could evade capture or assassination for 9.5 years. That or hell, maybe Osama bin Laden really is some kind of Cobra Commander character who controls all terrorist activity in Afghanistan and the areas of Pakistan.

Or maybe theres too much dramatics and flair put into this story and bin Laden was never really important in the first place, but just a rich guy who supplied a face for a global network of terrorism. I've read the guy never really did much beyond appear in videos as a figurehead and to make propaganda- that all of al Qaeda never really formed, under that name, until a CIA or FBI investigation to indict suspected terrorists used the name for the convenience of this case.

Right now I feel like I'm living in the times where Tonkin Gulf was seen as a real incident- but I cant wait to see what the future holds in terms of revelations. That or maybe the real truth of anything will ever be known after it's been thrown into the collective Memory Hole of the intelligence agency
This.

I think he's been dead for a while, and this Obama's way of preparing the US for the end of the War on Terror. This way we can say we 'won'. And according to the Wiki, this was a kill operation from conception. That doesn't make a hell of alot of sense.

the death of Bin laden will not change anything in regard to the current situation with terrorists. The second in command will take over and things will resume as normal, except now they have a martyr.

To be honest it was a pretty crap and unconvincing picture to begin with, someone could do better using Microsoft Paint!

They said on CNN that DNA testing proved that it was Osama. Can't really say more. I don't buy something like that covered up. If they wanted to cover it up, the USA big men would've "killed" him years ago. Probably when Bush was still in charge.
I think it's not fake.

The first time I saw that picture was on a friend's Iphone, so I really couldn't get a good look, but it doesn't matter because this jackass is finally dead. Oh, and forget about coming up with any conspiracies just to make yourself feel cool or look edgy, everyone will just shun you.

Exactly. Anyone else?
It's not like the fucker did much after planning 9/11 anyway. Just a dude hiding from the US military in caves.

THAT'S the photo? They needed to write an article and put research into telling you that that was a fake?

I've seen more convincing nude fakes of Katy Perry than that thing.
This. There is something incredibly odd about the photo that was released.

Good thing that photo's fake, I understand that showing his dead body would be a breach of the Geneva Convention.
Hasn't US lately been kinda... Questioning the terms in their practices anyway? Because this is what I have understood.

If someone can break the rules and get away with it, why would you believe they would start obeying the rules all the sudden.

I think that you're actually a government agent attempting to dissuade us from seeing conspiracies by pretending there aren't any conspiracies.

You sneaky bastard.

Just to let you know, the Guardian isn't a tabloid. The guy might be wearing a tinfoil hat but it's nothing to do with his sources.

OT: Photo might be fake but that doesn't mean the whole story is, putting a bloody head on your rag of a paper just sells more copies.

The Guardian is probably one of the most trustworthy papers in Britain. :-/
Maybe, but the Daily Mail, another rag which ran the fake image and is cited in the article, certainly looks like one.

"Tabloid runs fake image." Nice investigative journalism. You got yourselves quite a scoop. [/sarcasm]

But seriously, It's good The Guardian discovered the image was fake. It seems, however, that in their effort to quash conspiracy theorizing, they managed to create more of it. This thread seems proof enough of that.

This post is obviously a conspiracy to discourage conspiracies! I'd better inform the rest of the internet.

No. But this proves that aliens built the Great Wall of China and that Elvis really is the Highlander.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/02/osama-bin-laden-photo-fake

According to a recent New York Magazine article, DNA evidence confirms that Osama Bin Laden was indeed killed last night. However, a photo which has been circulating on the internet claiming to be the dead body of Osama Bin Laden, has been proven to be a composite of two different images. Does this reawaken anyone's belief that Bin Laden really died in 2001 and that this is just a cover-up to justify the war in Afghanistan?
That news is like, 2 years old! It was first circulating in 2009 [http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:HhEh-2wPwVMJ:www.thepeoplesvoice.org/TPV3/Voices.php/2009/04/29/osama-bin-laden-believed-dead-by-pak-int+osama+bin+laden+believed+killed+by+pak+intel&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&source=www.google.co.uk] and even then people were calling it out as fake XD It's only popped up again cos tabloids want something to stick on the front cover. Whole thing detracts from the more fun conspiracy theories - this one's a long-deadened horse.

Wait, is that meant to discourage more theories, or egg on compulsive theory finders? Man, it would suck to be an obsessive-compulsive around you :p Or maybe you're speaking from experience lol.
