According to some scans from the upcoming April issue of Game Informer, Bioshock is going to be have:

* Players play as the "first ever" Big Daddy.
* You rescue Little Sisters from other Big Daddies and can either harvest or escort them on their ADAM harvesting trips.
* The game is set 10 years after the first BioShock.
* There will be a multiplayer mode, but no details were given.
* BioShock 2's enemies include the Big Sister, a grown-up Little Sister who is hunting you.
* Some levels take place on the sea floor outside of Rapture.
* The Big Sister will periodically pop up after you kill enough Big Daddies. Her arrival is apparently signaled by a Little Sister singing a song.
* The Big Sister is described as fast and "the hardest thing in the game." She'll utilize telekinesis to throw objects at you or use them as shields.
* Your drill overheats and cannot be used constantly.
* You play as a Big Daddy and you'll be able to do that nifty shoulder bash move.
* Upgrade trees are now more diverse.
* The Incinerate plasmid allows you to throw a fireball or shoot a stream of fire, depending on upgrades.
* Plasmids can now be combined. For example, mixing Incinerate and Cyclone Trap will result in a flaming trap.
* Weapons and plasmids can be used at the same time.
* You can now heal damaged turrets and bots.
* Players will explore Fontaine Futuristics which is where the Adam energy is harvested from Little Sisters. Through this, you will learn how the Adam is recovered.



...I'm speechless. It sounds awesome.

you cant play the first ever big daddy if its

1)ten years after the first one
and
2)If you already played as a big daddy. remeber the final level of the first one.

The source is fishy certainly, it's someone reporting they've read scans of GI, so, untrustworthy, but interesting nonetheless.

Am I late? Has someone else already posted this?

"First ever" is in quotes, I'm guessing there's something behind it, I dunno. The other details make sense and sound believable enough.

No, the cover of GI proves for a fact it's a sequel, so 10 years after is possible, 10 years before is not.

I'm afraid that all this has been confirmed. Another thread, from yesterday in fact, had it all, including screenshots to back it up. And you all seem a lot more pleased than most of the folk on that thread, myself included.

The first ever big daddy didn't die? Nothing said you'd be playing the first ever big daddy at his conception.

actualy no its 10 years after. the big sisters are little sisters only grown up, and they are kidnapping little girls. and yes the sourse is reliable, game informer said so and they interviewed one of the lead creators of the game.

Its the fist Big Daddy that was EVER made, as in the prototype Big Daddy, the one before all the other Big Daddys.

Looks cool, but I want to see if you can adopt more than one little sister and have a small platoon of ADAM harvesting little girls.

God, is the idea that something other than the main character and his love interest surviving in a FPS game so foreign?

I like the idea of a prototype big daddy, one that is perhaps better then the rest, armoured, sleeker and better looking (aesthetically) before costs forced them to do the big daddys the way the first game shows. You'd be more human looking and kick ass ...

Wow, looking at the new pictures of the Big Sister, I can just bet a massive fight sequence is gonna erupt between her and Big Daddy, played to the tune of an old 50s love song.

On the note of playing as a Big Daddy, I can see being frozen for use only when absolutely neccesary being a good reason for only appearing in this game, perhaps the fact that he was the first completed Big Daddy, having a defective brain-implant could be the reasoning of him not obeying orders; Maybe even a part is played in this by Jack?
