Is it just me or does this look identical to Bioshock 1?
This is not impressive to me. Not by a long-shot.

Looking at that video, it seems more generic. However, I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt based on how I loved the first one.

I just have a few concerns. They are, does it have re-playability on a level higher than the first one(Only one pass and done), and how does the multi-player stack up against other FPS type games.

Speaking of multi-player, I honestly believe Bioshock type games would benefit from a DoTA style leveling system for your person where you gain extra abilities as you play each map(new person to game would get leveled up to the point of the average level of said game to keep it balanced when new people join an already existing match). It just screams re-playability that way. At least for a while.
You, are not a Bioshock fan. Bioshock does not need multiplayer for the sake of having it, this is a lesson so many games need to learn. The top tier MP games remain the same because that was a core focus, far too many games throw it in just because idiots demand it. Ken Levine was wise to refuse to bend to people with the first game, it's a shame his staff jumped ship to 2k Marin and took his baby from him. As for replay, it had enough, it's called playing the game in different ways, the same thing that makes Mass Effect and Fallout so great. It didn't need some arbitrary collection system or random unlockables tucked away to generate the illusion of bonus replay.

The underwater bits look neat, the two hands up at once was needed, but the rest is highly questionable. Drill arm switching to normal arm to wield the rivet gun? A Halo Sword motion instead of the proper bum rush? And don't get me started on the story premise, dear lord wtf are they thinking. I'll just leave it at this, they are currently pretending Jack didn't exsist, Tenebaum took the Little Sisters out, but for some reason left a bunch behind.

Doesn't really look like you are a Big Daddy when you're moving so fast.
And Big Sisters running away from you? Notbthe same feeling as a Big Daddy.
Um I hate to point this out but do you not remember how fast they could run after you in the first game? I remember meeting the first one and he could easy keep up with me when I tried to run away. Let's face it if you only walk at 1 mile per hour it would be incredibly frustrating!

They've been telling us that you play as the very first Big Daddy for quite some time now.

As for the video, it's not really showing me anything that I've never seen before. I'll pick this up as a rental and play through it, but it just looks like Bioshock 1.5.

I'm still a little skeptic to the idea of playing as a Big Daddy, but this does look pretty sweet. As long as it has a storyline as good as the first, I'm definately considering it.

I'd be interested to play through it. I enjoyed Bioshock, I'd like to see some more variety in terms of gameplay elements (the enemies got extremely repetitive) but there isn't a whole lot that needs to be changed. That scene with the water breaking through the glass was epic as hell and it gives the feel that there are going to be underwater levels to the game which could be really cool (underwater enemies anyone?).

Um, I don't see that at all. Have you been reading somethinginthesea.com? The first game happened, rapture was left behind in the state it was. And the big sister then abducted little girls from several different locations around the world to repopulate the little sisters and start a new rapture the way she wanted it...

Woo for the halo sword lunge :S Though it does look like the first bioshock it could be better with the included ninja big sisters.

Figured I would add this article from a while ago to the storyline discussion.

I understand the implications of what I have said. I, however was speaking in terms of the fact if it is going to have multiplayer(like they said it would) make it have something more than a deathmatch that I fear they will attempt.

And Yes, I may not be the most hardcore Bioshock fan, but I do understand the premise of the story and all its intricacies. My issue is, in this day and age, i'd rather have more replay value with singleplayer than not. Hence, my stating that I want a replayability either through their stated multi-player mode or a better way to differentiate my character throughout the story-arc.

That is what I have stated, I was not stating change it for change sake, I was more of expanding upon what "I" know about the game being created.

Edit: On another note, I said it would work well for a game as such as Bioshock, however, I did not state it exactly "needed" it. Refer to above on reasons why I even MENTIONED Multi-player.
