Bioshock 2 multyplayer discussion

So its been out for a while so I just wanted to discuss what we think. Good tactics, loadouts, what we think of the caudio tape story etc.

Personally, I have to be the fat guy (Buck relish or something) because seeing him wadle around with a machine gun, jump and areo dash is hysterical, so I must bring joy where ever I go.

In terms of weapons, I havent gotten far enough to unlock all of them but as far as I know, the crossbow is really popular.

Plasmids/ gene tonics I find usefull are security evasion, the tonic that makes plasmids use less eve, and speedy hacker. As for plasmids, areo dash needs to be patched like a motherf*****. the game says you can stun the enemey if you run into them. 99.99% of the time, you stop right in front of the enemey, stunning you in a way and then a beating by golf clup is encued. Winterplast is also usefull for big daddies. Word to the wise, geyser trap eats ass no matter how much you charge it.

I havent unlocked all the audio diares for any charecter so I wont say anything untill I finish them. But feel free to put spoilers if you feel you really like it or hate it and want to discuss them.


Also, I have one question. Have the developers said anything about new dlc? That gated off area outside the apartment is taunting me with its mystery... WHAT IS BEHIND YOU!!??

I unlocked the elephant gun today. My god, is it amazing. Think of it as the power of a shotgun, but it can shoot across the map. Sure, it only has two shots, but I'd imagine there's an upgrade for that later.

Does anyone know the amount of ADAM needed to reach level 40? I have about 20000 right now, and I'm rank 20. Just wondering how much more I have to go.

I just googled it and it says 97000 adam on true achievements.

I havn't really touched online play yet, I'm rank 2, but whenever I play I get on some really laggy games, honestly what happened to my Dedicated Servers *cries*

I heard someone compaing in a game about how the bees cant find stuff directly in front of you and he rage quit. Are they just a distraction for you to unload with the nail gun?

OK, so it's not just me. My Xbox freezes every 3 games or so. It sucks because you could be playing a game for 10 minutes, and lose all the ADAM you earned that game.

If there was compensation for every time that happened, I'd have so much ADAM right now...

Anyway, back to that there discussion.
I started playing as Danny Wilkins (the football guy) because my friend stole Jacob and I want to seem original.
As for weapons, I get a lot of kills with the nailgun, but it seems kinda cheap. The shotgun just feels better.
And for plasmids, I stick with Winter Blast for hackin' stuff and Houdini for when everything goes wrong and I need a plan B.
It's also fun sneaking up on a Big Daddy and seeming all "WTF" when half his health just disappeared.

I think all the servers are local (hosted by the players), so you'd really need to be looking for some fellow Australians to play with, as for me I'm in the UK so you wouldn't expect so much of a problem. To emphasize how laggy the game is, I was playing with two other people from the UK, not the same counties, but same country (Britain), and our pings were horrific, and we frequently host our own Left 4 Dead 2 games on our own computers to avoid Randoms, getting between 60-80 pings off of each other, but it was unbearable on BS2

Crossbow sucks.

My loadout is Machine gun with extended clip, Elephant gun with scope, Geyser Trap (because I am a demon with them.) and electro bolt (because you charge your geyser trap with it and its a one hit kill!).

My gene tonics are... the one that makes health regen faster, eve regen and eve usage reduction.

Oh and if you have been in a match with me you will know me as the guy who keeps killing you and all of your team mates... Oh and I specialise in taking down Big Daddies single handed, why? Because people just dont know how to use a Big Daddy.

Oh you might also know me as the guy who sets up really intricate traps with the Geyser traps, I know for a fact that really pisses people off.

Electro shock plasmid and the pistol with auto fire works surprisingly well if you're accurate. The nail gun is also an all around good gun, highly effective on big daddies as above posters have notes.

Eve saver, the eve regenerator, and the quick research tonic work the best in my opinion. Lots of eve and damage bonuses. The health regen tonic doesn't have a very profound effect.

I have to say that hearing the football player refer to himself in the third person pisses me off so much. I go with Atkins (the pilot) because, well i don't exactly know why but i have found that not many people are her.
I wish there were like 5 more characters though. Players would feel just that extra bit more unique I think. I wish they had kept the prisoner in the final cut

Short. Probably too short, but it does have a lot more replayablity than it's predecessor. The combat is greatly improved and more varied in the strategies you can devise, plasmids are especially improved instead of just being "Winter Blast" and "Slightly better Winter Blast" they actually have totally different functions from upgrade to upgrade. The story is good, but it's kind of outshone by the original in terms of awesomeness.

With the multiplayer (Which is apparently laggy but still fun) I would definetly buy it ONLY IF you liked the first BioShock. If you didn't play the original GO PLAY IT NOW BEFORE I KEELZ U!!!

Mabye dont use winter blast because I beleive thats the only plasmid that is like bioshock 1 in that each upgrade is slightly better.
