I'm kind of a noob here but Bioshock was the first Xbox360 game I actually played, loved and played again on a harder difficulty and apart from all the NERD RAGEEEZZZ I had over the delay recently announced I can't wait for the 2nd installment in 2K's series of underwater utopia games.

So, what would you like to see in the 2nd game, what would you like changed and what do you predict will happen? Of course, these are merely rumours but it's nice to see what other fans of the series are expecting or want.

Oh, and what were your reactions over the news of a delay? Personally my digestive system spasmed and turned inside out but it's all better now.

Hopefully the delay means that they are taking their time to add in better features, and improve the overall game. I still have a feeling, that because it is a sequel, and to a fantastic game at that, it will be over hyped and be disappointing.

"Though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been associated with long delays."

I'm not really happy, I understand that development is a difficult process that can take a very long time, I understand that they want to work out all the bugs to improve the experience, and I understand that in current times game companies are being cautious with their developments.

But I don't understand why they won't just realize that I, and I'll guess a lot of other people, don't mind if there are a few glitches. Just that we get the game, I mean come on, I'd rather they released a broken game now (Thats just how much I want to play it) that a game where you're a bit less likely to get stuck in a wall.

What I would like to see in this new game is a complete reworking of death in the game. I thought that dying was handled very poorly in the orginal, the whole instant comeback with no real setbacks kinda stunk. I love the idea of playing as a big daddy, as long as we aren't as slow that is, and the big sisters look pretty cool. I also like the upgradable plasmids and all that new jazz. Even though I am eagerly awaiting the game, the delay doesnt bother me much. Same thing has happend with Borderlands, but I think it will have made it a better game. Oh and if you can't tell, I can't wait for Borderlands. :)

I just hope Bioshock 2 is more than System Shock 4 lite. As in "lite" on RPG elements, "lite" on challenge, and heavy on being System Shock 4. I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing a System Shock 3, but it should have things like cyborgs and a megalomaniac AI. Also, maybe BS2 could be more of a game, and less of an indictment of the philosophy of Ayn Rand.

Is that American McGee's Alice I see? You can stay, and even get a "Welcome" from me.

First off I seriously didn't intend for that first bit to rhyme, but it did. Secondly I wanted to cry when they delayed BioShock 2, but they recognized it wasn't going to be ready for release, so at least they care about releasing a finished product.

There have been a lot of games delayed to 2010. Companies need to not announce dates or products unless they know they can release them on time.

Why yes it is, and thanks for your welcome. It's a personal favourite of mine. Anyhow, I can understand why they delayed it, to patch up some glitches and to overall improve the quality of the final package to 'satisfy the fans'. Ok 1. Never satisfy fans. 2. Satisfy them with what? Perfection? Ok, Bioshock had problems: it was far too easy, was light on the choice making aspect, had an awful and unfulfilling ending (my face literally hit the floor when I was dumped back at the title screen faster than I could say arrested development) but are you trying to make this attempt even better? It was 'best game of the year 2008' we're not exactly going to be ranting and raving if Bioshock 2 was of the same quality. I think even Yahtzee would agree with me on that (though not entirely).
When all is said and done, it's only a few more months. Yeah, it sucks, and I was hoping to play it near the Winter season. It's going to be awkward playing Bioshock 2 in January or the Spring season but if it means a far better game, then ok. Is it me, or has the video game market been riddled with delays? I remember waiting 2 years for Kingdom Hearts 2 to come out (how ironic).

My main nibbling irritation is the fact that I can't help but think 2K screwed up a bit here. If all went swimmingly then it'd be set for a 2009 release date. I mean, the 'hunting the big sister' trailer was already up pretty early, so it seemed almost there.

To answer my own question, since this post has garnered far more attention than I could have ever hoped for (thanks for the feedback so far) I would like to see far more plasmids, more ways to blend plasmid powers together, a wider assortment of weapons (and I don't like the idea of just the rivet gun, I prefer different weapons rather than one ultra transforming weapon) and let's up the difficulty a bit shall we? I propose paying for revival with money. Say, $50 a shot. Also, in terms of the adoption process, the only way I see this working out is if they have a set ADAM corpse near every little sister so that you have to protect her once and then she deposits the ADAM and skidaddles. Having the same little sister with you destroys the appeal of acquiring more of them. Of course, no definite that this is going to happen, but I don't want the little sister hunting part to be deleted just yet. Oh, one last thing. Make getting little sisters harder. I remember specifically that I used the electric gel in Bioshock and the Big Daddy couldn't do anything about it. It just stood there, dying. Far too easy later on in the game. Oh, and BRING BACK THE TELEPORT PLASMID!

Huh!? What teleport plasmid?! Sorry, but that is the only thing in that entire post that caught my attention.

I have been a gamer for 30 years, and I have gotten used to vaporware-like release dates. My policy is to get excited about a game then automatically assume it will be out one year later than the announced release date. That way if it comes out on schedule (rare) then I feel like they are on the ball. If not, then I have a year to play other titles while I put my interest on the back burner.

I enjoyed Bioshock myself, and loved the story. I have always been an armchair philosopher and have views on Ayn Rand that the makers of this game seem to share. The game could also be said to follow the adage...

"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" -Lord Acton

Some of my more enthusiastic capitalist gamer friends get touchy about how Bioshock illustrates the fallacy of "Enlightened Self-Interest". I think that is a (much too PC imho) term used to arrogantly redefine greed and assuage the last vestiges of capitalistic guilt so as to feel self-righteous when screwing the less wealthy. For me, a person of few ethics and no morals, Bioshock is a sobering reminder that without a smattering of ethics...I would be far more susceptible to using other at their expense to fulfill my own agenda.

If it is only a few months, then ok... if it is delayed about a year or something, I'll be annoyed but still ok...

If they would just not give it multiplayer for the "omg no online its they suxz" crown they could have finished it in time.

That said, its good.
