i like how no one is talking about the combat^_^. this should be before plasmids since ryan made them so i cant begin to imagine how the combat will change.

I have loved Bioshock from the get go, with stunning visuals, stimulating voice overs, and gameplay that totally takes over your percieved life, it has been a really wild ride.... Bioshock's not so dandy sequel, well, kinda sucked in my opinion. I mean, yeah playing as a Big Daddy was cool and all, but there wasn't any immersive gameplay value in it... sorry. BUT, Bioshock: Infinite, now that's a different story all in itself. Words can't describe what my reaction was to the first glimpse into the world of Columbia.... but 'EFFIN BLOWN AWAY will suffice.... so I give Bioshock major kudos again, no doubt that this one will be a favorite in my gaming arsenal.

I really hate being underwater and am a bit claustrophobic, so I skipped on Bioshock 1 + 2. This one I might give a go, though.

I am EXCITED!
I loved the trailer.
The Art Style is really cool and i love that they decided on a environment far away from Rapture.
Im dying for more information about the Powers(Not gonna call them Plasmids yet), environment, and the Story
Plus i really like the look of Rose(I think that's her name).

The 'oldies' theme to Bioshock turned me off to no end, so I suppose that them getting rid of that 50's feel might be good. I've never seen a 20's themed game :p

Can we please see this city when it's actually not gone to shit? It was sort of interesting to see the fallen Rapture, but seeing it in it's glory, and then possibly coming crashing down around us, would've been even cooler. I hope they don't repeat that for this game.

Also, I don't think it should be called Bioshock. They did System Shock, then Bioshock, it should be called.. I dunno', Airshock or something.
Correct me if im wrong, but Systemshock seemed to be named such because of the envolvment of Shodan (an A.I.) and modding yourself with cybernetics and mechanical augments, and Bioshock seemded to be named for the use of plasmids to change you biologically. So because they're saying there will be some plasmid like item used in the game, it still fits with the Bioshock name.

*Edit*

The woman I believe you are talking about is named Elizabeth. And I too like the change to the skys. I feel that if they do not have a "plasmid" (for lack of actual term) that lets me toss people off platforms, im going to be pissed.

The whole premise of the sky thing is oozing with imagination, and repetitive-ness, it looks wonderous but it's still the same screwed up city and stuff, im sure it'll be good though...

It's Bioshock in the sky. That's all I know. I'd feel dirty making judgements on it already.

I'll just say that there is a new setting, so let us hope that it has a better plot than Bioshock 2 did.
Dude, that's all you need to know! It's BIOSHOCK IN THE FUCKING SKY!!!

Incidentally, I think it's going to be awesome.

Remember that Bioshock 2 was called sea of dreams originally and that changed.
Personally I am really exited for this one.

Seriously, I'll probably just end up renting this one.
That's exactly what I did with Bioshock 2.

OT: If 'Bioshock' turns into a whatever-punk series of games, I'm not going to complain.
It looks like a fairly original setting, with a story much similar to the original pitch of Bioshock - Get the girl from the underwater sea worshipping cult.

However, what was nice about the first Bioshock, but a little less with it's squeal due to the Alternate Reality Game they played to market it, was that it was separate and secret from the world that we know of today.

With Colombia, it seems to be a well known thing that has done something to someone somewhere in 1912...in public.

So the world just won't be 'Ohh, that could, like, totally be going on now!'

...just me then X3

I know I'm going to buy it, and I'm almost certain I'm going to like it.

However, the plot point they have to add in about naturally having these abilities has me skeptical, what with their being no genetic alteration making people superhuman.

EDIT: The weapons in 1912 were drastically different, so, perhaps a heavier emphasis on melee?

But the limited weapons seem to be:

Bolt action rifles,
Melee weapons,
Bows and arrows/crossbows
Perhaps a large machine gun.

But, of course, with the steampunk advanced technology theme it could certainly have way better weaponry.

i might be the first guy to say this but what if those two in the trailer are Andrew Ryans parents they never say his age its the 60s in the first game so 49 years.this game is before WWI by the date.

bioshock two was good but everybody is so darn set on comparing it to the first one which is why people whine about that and i see the same for this game.

my first impressions are it looks interesting and atleast its a bit more unique then a lot of games that have come out. Im looking at codmw and halo series. Before u halo fanboys attack me for my opinion i would like to say i don't care.

Also have to agree with a lot of people here when it comes to the name.

It's called phonaesthetics, and even though both words sound good on their own right, together they sound off and there's no sense of any meaning.

Or in another words, it's no Cellar Door!

I actually agree with you about Bioshock 2, though the story (in my opinion) was not as good as the first's it was still a respectable and enjoyable game.

The concept of a city in the sky is all kinds of batshit crazy but that could be a good thing if played right, freed from the limitations of realism; time for steampunk airships WOO HOO!

And it's from the guys who ACTUALLY made the first one (bioshock 2 was made by guys who only PORTED Bioshock from PC to 360 and PS3) so that has to count for something.
